1 to 2 bars in house, cannot make calls, dropping calls 3-4 times during a conversation. Too bad, Sprint had a good price, but what good is that if the phone doesn't work?

Route 63 from Clemens Rd. to Route 113 is horrible for Verizon. All calls are dropped in this area if you can get reception. That is about a 2-3 mile stretch. My wife's Verizon phone does the same thing thoughout this area. When I called Verizon, they told me they have never had any other reported problems here and I needed to get my phone checked by the repair shop before they would take any action. YEAH RIGHT!

After being in a total black hole with Verizon, AT&T, later Cingular, TDMA was only marginally better - mostly because the bill was on a company plan and cheaper than Verizon. After several missed calls while roaming, problems traced to the TDMA to GSM conversion, Cingular replaced our two Nokia 2260 TDMA phones with two Samsung SGH-x497 GSM phones at no charge. The key here was to simply complain about poor service and to mention the magic phrase "Public Utility Commision complaint". It took some effort but the results are worth it.

With different phones (mine and friends' phones) this location is a black hole for cell phone coverage. I called Verizon to complain and to ask when they expected to improve coverage. With some pushing and prodding I spoke to the person in charge of cell tower planning and he said "not for at least 18 months". Armed with this I called Verizon sales, cited the source, and they actually let me out of the contract for NO charge.

Cingular TDMA was 1-2 bars at best, Verizon was 0-1 bars, but Cingular GSM is actually usable and reliable.

Is it me but Nextel really sucks lately? Dropped calls from everywhere- I've complained to Nextel to no avail. Going to switch to Verizon- they seem to have a better service.
