T-Mobile
Overall, I would rate T-mobile as average in the Philadelphia area (even thoough coverage in my immediate home area is good). There are 3 spots on the Schykhill Expressway where the calls inadvertently drop (my commute to work); btw, I use a Nokia 6610 with the service, which I used to replace my Ericsson T68i, which performed poorer. I have found the service to be below average to poor when traveling out of town. It drops calls with alarming frequency on major highways in the area, when I traveled from Philly to Toronto, Canada, which included interstate highways 476, 81, 90 and the Niagara area. GSM coverage needs to improve considerably to catch up to international coverage standards, and I keep hearing that plans to aggressively install newer towers over the next 6-12 months are under way. Let's hope that to be true, cause I could sure use better coverage. Btw, I used to be a Nextel user, which I would rate as Very Good in the Philadelphia area, especially with the Motorola I90c phone. Cheers. Nov 19, 2004.
