Had AT&T for seven years and never had a problem anywhere in Pittsburgh. I experienced all the carriers I think AT&T is best in Pittsburgh. It really depends where you are in the country. Different cities are different. Verizon could be better in a different city in vice versa with the others.

Reception is fine for calls and internet. Phone is an older Motorola Droid X, so only 3G, but I've never had any issues with Verizon's service in my area.

Reception is fine, but the speed downtown in the golden triangle is poor during business hours and non-existant during the noon lunch hour. Works fine after 5pm and on weekends.

I can't believe how poor Sprint is on this mountain and there is a huge radio antenna up here... Sprint can go f#€! Themselves after our contract.

Switched from Verizon to AT&T a few months ago. We now have LTE everywhere, including at home, whereas Verizon only had 3G and 2 bars the most at home. Better signal and saving $40 a month made our decision a no-brainer. Verizon is completely overrated in Pittsburgh.

Only marginally better than Verizon (which I switched from). Especially strange is that I am in "line-of-sight" with TWO microwave relay towers. Either "4G" is over-hyped, or these companies just aren't delivering.

Zero to 1.5 bars most of the time. Lots of dropped calls. Need to go outside most of the time for any good signal or clarity. Their coverage map is a blatant lie.

If I walk several blocks from my house I can get 2 or 3 bars with Verizon. Anywhere in or near my house and I get 1 bar if I am lucky. Many phone calls can not be made or received. I get messages that I am out of my service area.

Hardly any service, inside or outside of my recently purchased house. Other areas of Penn Hills seem to be fine. Must change providers, even after many years with T-Mobile. I moved back to Pgh last fall and kept my Oregon number, but that is not an issue with the poor signal.

Verizon service is very spotty for both voice and texts. Tech service can offer no explanation. Usually have only 2 bars but not seeing any good AT&T reviews to make it worth switching!

Just switched from Sprint to T-Mobile's $50 pre-paid plan with a Prism. For the most part it great, I haven't run into any issues yet other than not really liking the handset, but it will grown on me in time. The data is relatively slow compared to Sprint. For me though, I need a telephone, not a computer, so it's fine. I occasionally Google a phone number... I don't do anythign on it that requires high speed. Calls and texts are working fine. I'm trying to start a business and that's where my money needs to go - not to phone company's. If you need to cut expenses, it's a good solution. Saving $39 / a month with this. If a call does happen to drop... guess what... I can call the person back!

Inside of my apartment, there are 3 'wtf spots' I've discovered, which drop me out of 4G, block any incoming calls, texts and emails from being received, though I just stay out of the spots that kill my phone. Easy. Driving around the city, which I do regularly, I don't ever drop a call, less a few spots, ie Warrington Ave. in Allentown drops everyone, or South 18'th St.from Mt. Oliver to Southside. I rarely notice my phone drop from the 4G LTE side down into anything lower. Driving through tunnels, Liberty, Wabash, Squirrel Hill, my calls are still hanging strong throughout.
