Been with AT&T since they were Cingular. I have close to perfect coverage / data speed indoors and out all over the city and outlying burbs. So many people around here use Verizon and are unhappy. Used to have Verizon myself and had no signal in our basement and garage. Love At&t, cheaper and good service.

I have great reception in downtown Pittsburgh, but I get static all the time. I have had all of the other carriers, and I think AT&T is better then Verizon, t-mobile, Sprint, and Cricket.

Verizon has a strangle-hold in Shadyside (a good thing), with great coverage and reception. AT&T is also okay, but I prefer Verizon, and I always have 5 bars. Inside some buildings I range between 2-4 bars, though, depending on where I am in the building.

Only bad area I found in 15235 zip was universal rd area.

I work at the 'Sears Repair' store in the 'mower' section. This is a very large building with lots of steele and wiring everywhere. I have never had any problems with service or reception here. Some here use 'Sprint, T-Mobile and Nextel, and they all say they have had dropped calls or have to get near a window to make a call. I even connect my Verizon phone to my notebook computer to get online with no problems at all. Thanks Verion, WC.

This servicerarely lets me down around town or when traveling, a plus! I also notice that people with other carriers have problems on their end when I do not.

Verizon Wireless is rock solid in the Pittsburgh area, as well in most of SW PA. I tried Sprint and Nextel, but VZ beats them both for reliable coverage in this area.

I have been with Verizon for over 4 years now, and have had NO problems with reception, except when I traveled thru parts of W. Virginia where there was no service.

University of Pittsburgh is A OK!

This TDMA service works very well when I'm out in the middle of nowhere. I ride my bike, sometimes alone, and on the rare occasion I need assistance, I can place a call from anywhere. It is old and heavy but I can place calls in places no one else can! I was the only person with a working cell phone at a business conference in Roanoke, West Virginia last year.

Reception is generally excellent in the Pittsburgh area. Once in a while the service will ac a little funny, but almost all of the time it's full bars.

Usually good, although for some reason is spotty in late afternoon
