Reception hasn't been great recently. There is no 3g service here, but I don't miss most calls or texts. It drops a call every once in a while, especially in Highland Park, and near Allegheny Cemetery. What I find funny is when we were in Hawaii service was perfect! If Verizon wanted better reception, (such as they have in Europe,) they could. Verizon simply doesn't feel it necessary, especially now they have the iPhone.

I work at the 'Sears Repair' store in the 'mower' section. This is a very large building with lots of steele and wiring everywhere. I have never had any problems with service or reception here. Some here use 'Sprint, T-Mobile and Nextel, and they all say they have had dropped calls or have to get near a window to make a call. I even connect my Verizon phone to my notebook computer to get online with no problems at all. Thanks Verion, WC.

I have been with Verizon for over 4 years now, and have had NO problems with reception, except when I traveled thru parts of W. Virginia where there was no service.

Lose all calls; I do not believe this is the phone. I called to report several times and they tell me they have bad towers and switch me to another one and this still happens. I cannot wait till my contract is up; I am definitely changing carriers.

I only get enough service for the call to come through. The second I touch my phone to answer it, I lose the call. I only get 1 bar of service in my bedroom and I lose the call in route. Verizon sucks. I miss T-Mobile.

I lose signal a lot in this area as well as other parts of the North Hills. 4 bars one second, no bars the next. I could be standing still and watch it fluctuate. Hopefully this gets better with time.

Mt Wasington is crazy for Verizon Wireless. Sporadic sinals from ZERO to FIVE bars and back to ZERO for no obvious reason. aGPS devices like VZ Navigator get way off base, mine told me I was 130 miles away in Titusville PA. You'll have FIVE bars untill you press SEND then you'lll have NO BARS. all for NO APPARENT REASON... I suspect the reason is because the phone is higher than the base station cel towers below and this causes issues... but dam..it's 2010... can we fix this already???

good reception, on rare occasion get spotty reception, overall nothing to complain about.

Reception is GOOD, not perfect. Major problem is the bursts of STATIC. My friend and mother (who live in the North Suburbs) have the same problem. I suspect STATIC is an issue with GSM. The static sounds like a wave crashing on the shore. 'Nawmeen ???

I got too many 'Busy Network' recordings and I very often have to redial Cingular customers up to three times to get through Cingular has terrible customer service... and no customer service at all from 9PM Friday until 8:30 AM Monday. I paid the $150.00 to get out of my 2 year contract. I went back to T-Mobile who has excellent Customer Service, never a busy network recording.

I drive all over the Pittsburgh area and have dropped calls occasionally, but really can't complain because I think every carrier does.

I moved to Pittsburgh three weeks ago and haven't made a clear call with Verizon since. I can't even think of making a call in my house on N Highland Ave. I have to walk into the front yard, and even there my calls are dropped about half the time. Where I came from in South Carolina, Verizon was be far the best carrier. I have held off on getting an iPhone for years because my service with Verizon was the envy of all my AT&T friends. I guess I have no reason not to jump ship now.

Front of house is near power line- if I drop a call it usually happens there. Reception never very good in the house (0-2 bars, very infrequently 3) but over the last 2 years, there have been fewer dropped calls. T-Mobile my favorite for customer service.

The advertisements say the least dropped calls. Obviously they aren't referring to my area of Point Breeze. I had trouble with T-Mobile first and now Cingular. Almost every call over 10 minutes will drop at some point from the same spot. Battery is fully charged and it doesn't matter whether I'm inside or out. The other issue is with the salespeople themselves. It's great there are so many Cingular stores everywhere but the staff has one mission... to get you to extend your contract. They tried doing it to me when I had a phone break and bought another. When called on it the salesman had the nerve to enter a contract renewal effective 2 months later. Unawares, I stopped in to Cingular to find out when the contract was over only to be told that I just renewed. which I had not. Upon further investigation it was found that the contract was to begin the next day! luckily I came in before it took effect. The head office tried to say I signed up but I challenged them to produce anything to support that. They couldn't. The salesperson simply wanted to get the commission and put me in the computer as having done so. Some trick, huh? Be careful. It's a very competitive business and the salespeople will resort to a lot of tricks to get you to renew. That's where the money is for them.

I have great reception in downtown Pittsburgh, but I get static all the time. I have had all of the other carriers, and I think AT&T is better then Verizon, t-mobile, Sprint, and Cricket.

Dead spot at Knox and Arlington Avenues. Notified Verizon for the last 3 years, they always say they will do something about it but they never do. Lets face it, these companies have very little in customer support.
