only service that I got serv with was nextel. I am interested in switching to Cingular soon when the apple iphone is released.i had Cingular back in 03-04 and it worked in poconos but inside gates of arrowhead it sucked.is anyone with Cingular now that uses their phone throughout arrowhead and is happy with there service. please let me know.thanks
This LG4600 phone replaced a Sprint phone that did not connect most of the time in the Poconos. The LG gets connected much better but is still inconvenient in that to get decent reception I sometimes have to stand on my 2nd story deck. The Verizon store gave me a two-week trial and I was pleased to be able to use it with minor quirks in connections, so I got one each for my wife and me. We have been very happy with this phone, for three years now, in almost everywhere we go in the U.S. Nevertheless, it costs us about $120 per month. Therefore, we are looking for a cheaper plan that provides Pocono Mountains, PA consistent, reliable service when we go to the Pocono house, which is adjacent to Arrowhead Lakes. Does anyone know of such a service?
Basically, no reception. Occasionally, if someone calls the phone, it might ring, but there is chance to hear the person on the other side as the call gets dropped right away. Same for my wife's Audiovox don't-remember-the-model.
My personal experience with Cingular has been average at best. While my parents receive stellar service in such a rural area, I usually average one or two bars at best at the same location. However, when I make or receive a call, my signal increases to three or four bars. I have had several dropped calls, but my parents have better luck. I purchased a brand-new, unlocked Samsung phone (my original Cingular phone was a Motorola V220), and the problem persists. A friend of mine gets better reception at my house with T-Mobile than either myself or my parents. If this keeps up, I'm dumping Cingular.
