I get great reception with my new service and new phone. The phone has 3 frequencies, which I am told helps with the reception. I was an AT&T customer, which was taken over by Cingular. Prior to changing to the new service, I had absolutely no service at my home. I am quite pleased that I can now use my free cell phone minutes inside my home, instead of using my land line phone.

Pretty good reception! 4/5 bars sometimes 5/5 bars. Was thrilled. Had no problem accessing the Virgin XL/Virgin Extras and taking and sending pictures while in this area.

SprintPCS used to have terrible reception in this area as recent as a year and a half ago. Currently, I get up to 2 bars in the basement of Bailey library where the University - provided CellularOne phone gets no reception. In fact, CellularOne is almost useless in most of the SRU campus if you're in a building. I've also driven the entire length of I-80 from Harrisville to New Jersey and usually have full reception the entire route. Last summer, I drove from SRU to Buffalo, NY and had full reception at max and 1 bar minimum the entire way. I think that SprintPCS has great coverage all over western PA except they have the smallest selection of "cool" phones. I've had their service for about 4 years now.

AT&T sucks here at SRU. The towers are too short and when I walk down a hill I loose my reception.

The coverage on CellularOne's GSM network in Slippery Rock is great. A new tower went online and all of Slippery Rock is 100%. The new location is on the Slippery Rock water tower. Additionly to the north east the coverage is good due to a new GSM tower location on Rt. 8 in Harrisville. Most of Rt. 8 from Butler north is covered using GSM which is an area that oftern receives no coverage with other provides!
