Verizon has the best coverage in area.

Horrible. Recieving texts 30 minutes late, can't make a phone call in my dorm room.

Reception is perfect calls are clear and the caller hears me fine.

Horrible reception, towers in the Salladsburg area limited. Do not trust to travel with Sprint in case of emergencies.

I don't have any reception. I always have dropped calls. Sprint was called, and we stayed on the line with them for 68 hours. A support rep. explained that they could not find any Sprint towers in the area for coverage, and would note this in the case notes. We talked to a manager, who insisted otherwise! Funny thing is, if you look on the maps, this contradicts the manager's biased reply! Yes, there are towers. Yes, there is coverage, but it is LIMITED, depending upon one's location in the 17701 Zip Code. The manager conveniently left out the important word, LIMITED!

Verizon has great coverage all over the Williamsport area including North of Williamsport in Trout Run.

Annoying static in certain buildings but never dropped a signal.

Nextel seems to work great all over Wmspt. Seems to do better in buildings to than my Verizon did. The only thing Nextel lacks on is going north. Just before Trout Run you lose it. Their closest tower though is above the Hesbon Rd. area as your going up the highway you can see it as its right next to you on the left going north.

Best coverage in the Williamsport area, especially outside of towns/cities. AT&T has bad coverage compared to other providers. Sprint has very clear signal, but does not work in many rural areas, and will drop calls during a commute due to this. For anyone who wants to use their phone while travelling, I would highly recommend using Verizon. The only bad thing about Verizon is that you get charged roaming fees in Northern PA, around the Towanda/Sayre and Wellsboro region. But hands down, they have the best coverage with the strongest signal strength.

Overall, reception is 4 to 5 bars in Williamsport. AT&T has been adding towers for the last 2 or 3 years. Have good reception from Williamsport along State Route 15 all the way to the New York state line. Any review older than 2006 probably isn't accurate any more.
