2-3 bars inside, 3-4 outside. Only one dropped call since September, and I use it often. Much better reception than Cingular down here in this little valley. Friends who have TMobile also report good reception.
Never had a dropped call once. I can remember three times in which I had no bars, but they were all inside. Great quality. I have been in rooms in which my friends will have no service with a non Cingular phone and I will have perfect service.
Reception's perfect in my home near Argyle and throughout Lower Merion - even Narberth at the ball fields - signal is 2 bars indoors at City Ave and Haverford, but consistent. 3 Blocks on Haverford and 4 blocks on Bryn Mawr Ave (Penn Valley) are tougher and some calls break up. Just tried Sprint and sent the Samsung A900s back because I couldn't get signals in the same places.
Mixed feelings about Nextel. Use Nextel all i2000 over the Philadelphia / Montgomery County / New Jersey area as well as in various cities in US. Love my indestructable phone. Happy that it works in Europe. Unhappy that I lose signals a lot, especially in more rural areas of Pennsylvania and western NJ. More importantly in my area of Montgomery county I get spotty service. The fact that it doesn't consistently work in my own home in Montgomery County is not good. Nextel needs to get some more towers going in the Philadelphia area.
