Started using Virgin Mobile a year ago. Had excellent service (for Potowomut) when first started using it. By that I mean Outdoors:4 Indoors:2 Underground:1 But within the past month: Outdoors:1-3(watch it go up and down) Indoors:0-1 Underground: 0-1

There used to be very poor reception here (1 bar on my phone) but now its down to zero bars and when people call me my phone goes right to voicemail. T-Mobile's suggestion to me was that I should stand outside since the coverage in this area was only "fair". Sadly, I can't stand outside 24 / 7.

T-mobile has great reception for the most part al over RI. I find that my reception is better than other carriers in various places. When they have no service I have it! Of course a couple of bad cell areas in simialr locations others have mentioned but usually that is on the road driving,I get reception in my home, basement, and various buildings. Also they seem tohave best plans. Thought of switching but seems like this onei s the best so I am keeping this service!

My Service was purchased from ATT almost exactly three years ago because the Cingular service I had at the time was dead at my location. (Just North of Division St. off Post Rd). ATT worked great until yesterday - No Service - I have to walk 1 / 2 mile in any direction to get decent reception just like I did in the old Cingular days. Customer Service claims that there has not been any changes in tower status in this area. Hmmm.

After your call is dropped on Rt4, and again on 95N Warwick (but today I saw a new tower going up at 95 / 4!) then 295N has SEVERAL absolute dead spots, especially between Rt15 Plainfield Pk all the way to Rt44 dont bother calling, it will drop.

Switched from AT&T TDMA to GSM. Works much better. Have tried Cingular, Nextel, T-Mobile and Verizon in this location. Nextel and Cingular do work, but AT&T offeres better reception and better features. No signal with the other carriers.

The reception in most of Rhode Island is great. I currently have TDMA and have no problems. I switched to GSM which was horrible at my house near Main St. in East Greenwich, but was fine everywhere else. There will supposedly be 4 new towers up in RI by the end of December for GSM.
