The coverage is one minute wonderful, but then it dissapears for 5-10 mins. It seems that on Cingular on the east side of providence (and on the west side to an extent), I keep being bounced around to different systems, some better than others. In my house I sometimes have good coverage (3 bars) but usually have none. At work it varies from no coverage to full coverage, with no known modifiable factors on my part

Verizon Wireless has almost no reception anywhere in Pawtuxet Village. Repeated complaints to Verizon Wireless has resulted in a change of phones, to a Tri-Mode, however, that has not solved the problem. Supposedly there is a tower on or near Thurbers Avenue, about, six minutes away, but, it certainly doesn't help reception.

How do I lose my calls? Let me count the ways. When my call is actually connected, my reception is fine, but fifty percent of my calls are lost when I use my phone in my home. Outside, on the street, I have no complaints about my phone or service at all. What is it about me being inside my house that makes my calls become lost?

I joined Nextel a few years ago because my mother had the phone for work. What a mistake that was. I've had nothing but horrible horrible reception everywhere I go. I've called and complained on more than one occassion, had the phone and / or parts of the phone replaced about seven times and they've even shut off my cell phone on mistake... TWICE! Besides service, they are way too expensive and the phones break all the time. My one suggestion - stay away from Nextel!

I travel between Providence and Washington DC a lot. I always have reception and most of the time I'm at four or Five Bars. Inside buildings, even in basements, I'm good to go. I really think the phone itself has a major say in the reception. I've traveled into rural parts of Virginia and MASS on Verizon with my Samsung and been just fine. I've used T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T and none of them compare to the reception I get with Verizon. Just don't buy a LG phone if you go with Verizon. My experience with LG products has been horrible... but that's just me.

Nextel coverage has steadily declined since the merger... dropped calls, unable to call out, unable to direct connect to someone who is right next to me that has full bars. Customer service is no help whatsoever, and the corporate store in Seekonk just told us to "Swap out your phone." I doubt the problem is with the phone when more than a few people I know are getting "Network busy" or "Try again later" messages. Nextel sucks.

Reception good most of the time, most of the places. Calls are dropped rarely. At home (1 mile north up hope) reception is spotty, but seems to be improving in last month.

T-Mobile has the best plans and nice phones, but the coverage is probably the worst among the major carriers. Reception is decent near the cities, but is bad on highways and country roads.
