I cannot use this service at work or home without first searching for a bar or 2. Inside a bldg forget about it. At BestBuy looking at the AT&T phones I get... ... you guessed it no bars. Summing it all up standing motionless with no wind I get 1 to 5 bars in some places, if I move my head, talk, or fart signal is dropped. On a positive note I believe AT&T is adding towers in Savannah, and every other place other than here. ps. I moved from TMobile, and service was just as good. Hmmm maybe I'll try Verizon next... ...

Just switched from Sprint to T-Mobile because of billing issues. Every month my bill was wrong and I had to call in to customer service to get it fixed. Nothing really wrong with Spring coverage, except on base in certain areas, but billing is HORRIBLE. So now I'm with T-Mobile and while customer service is OUTSTANDING, service sucks. I have a wi-fi phone, so I'm able to pick up my wireless signal from my router at home and anywhere else there may be a wireless signal. However, my daughter gets limited reception at Ladys Island Middle, service on base isn't good and out in town it's hit or miss, depending on where you are. Now, I'm not so sure I should have left Sprint. Was thinking about Alltel, but after reading reviews here, I've changed my mind.

Since Nextel combined with sprint, things have changed. Especially now that they have these new hybrid phones. Customer service has dramatically improved too from what I expeirenced almost 3 years ago. On the air station, I get 4-5 bars and even on the van pad inside a big metal box where I work, I get a solid 2 bars. Just fired Alltel after a month and a half. I heard good things about them but I was not impressed, with the coverage or their customer service. Cingular / AT&T was ok, but nothing compared to the current sprint / nextel. Even on Lady's Island, I get a solid 2-3 bars, sometimes 4, even DEEP into Sams Point Rd, where Alltel is lucky to have 1-2 bars.

Sprint, by far, has the best reception I've had in 14 years at this locale. Fired Alltel, T-Mobile, Nextel. Now that Sprint merged with Nextel and dropped residential, the billing is the worst. Got to watch my bill like a hawk.

No cell phone works good on base, but once you get out into town this phone has GREAT reception. VERY pleased. And the great thing is that if you do roam while your on base you get fairly good reception, even inside the house.

Cingular is the worst phone company I've been with. There is no reception in the barracks, inside or out, and just to use my phone I have to go to the PX. The Razr is by far the worst but most expensive phone I've ever had. I thought it was supposed to be one of the best. I drop all my calls, even when I'm out in town, and the battery has a life of maybe two-thirds of the day.

Whether its one bar or four bars, my reception is usually pretty good, unless I'm in a rural area, like Sams Point Rd.or Lands End Road. St. Helena Island is spotty, and I get no reception at the Hunting Island State Park Beach. In Beaufort city and on Hilton Head, my service works great. Along Hwy. 17 towards Charleston is also a bad spot for reception.

In most places I get one or two bars. There are a few places on base where there are power lines where I get no signal and drop calls. Also inside any buildings I have no service. Rarely have I been able to talk for more than 5 min and the call wasnt dropped in this area.
