Have had Verizon Wireless for 10+ years with no problems. Calls are clear and internet apps work well whether at home or traveling around the US. Only glitch is that sometimes texts and messages are delayed when I travel.

1 to 3 bars. Even with 3 bars the conversation breaks up. Have had this problem for over two years, Verizon was able to improve situation from poor to average, but is now back to poor. Verizon admits the Summit is in a problem area.

Sprint's "mobile broadband" has 1 bar sometimes and often none. Good thing I'm at the end of my contract because it's very frustrating. Same thing happens with the Sprint cellphone. Fortunately the iPhone on AT&T does much better. Wish we'd known earlier this was considered a problem area.

3 bars max. Generally 1-2. Callers often cannot hear me and I cannot hear them or they sound "choppy" (I hear about every forth or fifth syllable). Coverage is no better outside my house or in other areas in the community. Verizon says The Summit and Lake Carolina are in a "weak area". But, the coverage used to be better. Verizon store programmed "different towers" into the phone, but the operation did not improve. Looking now for a different carrier.

I can get reception but can only talk for 30 seconds at a time before the call is dropped and after the call is dropped I get no service at all for up about two minutes. I been told that it not AT&T network but the iphone was made to be use in a city setting and not in the suburbs. Also the 3G on this this phone is spotty and there time when I get no 3G service all, this can last for 15 to 30 minutes at a time.

I have a weak signal outside my home and no signal in my house. I miss dozens of calls due to this and they said when I called them that my phone is reading off of someone else's tower and there is no fix for this. They said it "is a good thing you don't have to pay for roaming because we have no towers in your area. You are running off of others' towers." So I shouldn't even have a signal but I my phone mooches off other towers. I've been with them for 10 years and can't wait any longer for signal.

I get anywhere from 0-1 the majority of time at home... can't reach anyone and have to walk outside and say, "can you hear me now?" And I don't even look like that idiot! Verizon has had terrible coverage in this area. Furthermore, with my new Blackberry it is even worse... I drop about 4 out of every 10 calls... Texting sometimes delays up to a 1 / 2 hour or more at times... same with messages. I spoke with Verizon two years ago (before going to Iraq) and again upon returning... same terrible coverage which is extremely hard to believe since they are supposed to have the best coverage. :-(

ATT coverage on Fort Jackson absolutely sucks neither my iPhone nor Blackberry have decent reception. 80% of the time I have no reception at all. T-Mobile sucks as well. If you work on Fort Jackson don't even bother having a cell phone.

In the downtown area, out into lower Richland County, and up into the Irmo area, coverage is generally very good. I've been with Virgin for 2 years, and the experience has been a good one.

We have used Verizon for over 6 years. about a month ago, reception at my house changed. 3 bars to 1 or none. Cannot use phone because you can hear but people cant hear you. They say that its a low coverage area and no date to improve. "Low coverage?????" Its right next to the summit and sandhills. I believe they are reducing power out put of the towers to save energy costs. I keep hearing of more and more people who had coverage but now can't use their phone in their home. There is no way you can have good service with the same provider then all of sudden bad coverage. They've changed something and they don't want customers to know. They will lose business and people will start using land or cable phone at home. Very dissapointing, I'm looking at changing. Contract was up last year.

Very poor reception. This is the 3rd phone we have had with verizon. We get one bar at best inside our home. There are no large buildings or hills to block signals. There is also a cell tower within a mile of our development. Verizon says they are aware of the problem, but offer no solution. I think they should provide customers with cell phone repeaters to boost signal.

Sometimes one bar, often none in my part of the subdivision (Southeast Columbia, near the VA Hospital). I just tested a Samsung A437 and a Nokia 6555 here in hopes of getting better reception in my house, but neither worked as well as my old Motorola, which barely works at all. Outside my neighborhood, AT&T (Cingular) reception is pretty good in this part of town, but it's pretty discouraging not to have cell service at home.

It's been this way for a year. Before that, I could actually use the phone in the house. Now, it's either no bars or one bar. Sometimes four or five bars will flicker, but it's just a flicker. CALL FAILED is what I get.
