Verizon 4 Out of 5 Phone Model: Blackberry	I believe that the Verizon cell tower is located on top of the Edisto Beach water tower. Very good reception here near the 29 Beach Access (2900 block of Palmetto Blvd.) I am also using a Verizon broadband laptop and get consistent connection speeds of 3.1 Mbps.

AT&T 1 Out of 5 Phone Model: LG C2000	I have 3 cell phones with AT&T. We have no problems with reception except on Edisto where we visit several times a year. Every year I write and call AT&T. Rather than adding a tower (low priority), they suggest that there is a problem with my phones.

	My phone worked well there, although occasionally the Blackberry service would not connect. It only happened twice out of a four day trip and only lasted for a few minutes each time. I also have an old Nokia one-piece phone that worked fine while on the island. Both phones have service through T-Mobile.

AT&T 1 Out of 5 Phone Model: Nokia 3390	No reception at all except when on the beach. Service fails about 25 miles north on highway 174, the only road to the island.

Alltel 1 Out of 5	Reception varies from "no reception" to "poor". Not a single call could be made without constant drop-outs, and incoming calls often didn't make it to the phone.
