I know there is no native US Cellular coverage in or around Greenwood, SC; but I did have very good roaming coverage with my US Cellular phone in and around Greenwood, and since I am on a national plan there were no charges for voice or data. I also had no problems sending or receiving text or picture messages, and no problems receiving voicemail notifications. I spent a few days with a friend that lives there when their 1st child was born, and had no trouble making or receiving calls indoors or outdoors, or when I was driving from or back to western NC. My friends there had Alltel, Sprint, and Verizon phones; it seemed Alltel had slightly better overall coverage in the areas where I visited; and I found that in this area, Alltel was not absorbed by Verizon and continues to operate independently. From what I gathered, Greenwood seemed to be like most of North and South Carolina; GSM carriers (AT&T and T-Mobile) have many coverage issues (including the inability to roam with any other carriers) and should be avoided, while CDMA carriers (Verizon, Alltel, Sprint, US Cellular) have the best coverage and roam well in areas where they don't have native coverage.

Maybe you people with ancient phones need to update them, mot v710 and a930 have been discontinued for years. I receive perfect signal in most areas and 2-3 bars even in lower signal areas. At&T gets no signal in rural areas around Greenwood and T-Mobile is a joke.

get excellent reception on stonewood dr near Lake Greenwood. get 4-5 bars of 1x and EVDO and also using a um150 and get awesome reception.

very bad reception..especially when I leave town it just gets worse..i truly hate Verizon and I cant wait till my contract is up

The Reception for this phone is very poor around my home and in general I find it is poor in Greenwood SC. The only place I have excellent reception is in the VERIZON store!
