Occasionally, I can go to the highest point in the yard and get poor, crackly reception. But usually, I can't use the cell phone there.

I never have any problems with Alltel, my reception is great! I usually have a full signal most anywhere I go, including in my home. Occasionaly, about once or twice a year, the network will have a couple of days where the reception is just average and I might drop a call, but then after 2 or 3 days I have perfect coverage. I've tried Suncom, Verizon, Cingular, and Nextel. Alltel seems to work the best, not just for Laurens but everywhere I travel. And Alltel's plans also work out to actually be cheaper. So all in all... Alltel is the best. and just for help with analog problems (this works with all LG phones with Alltel and Verizon) to get your phone not to switch between analog and digital towers use this... 1st go to the main menu and press 0, fill up the service code with zeros also, next press 3 or go to force mode, then switch your force mode from automatic to CDMA only, and your done! no more static in your ear! the only thing is that everytime you cut off your phone, it resets the force mode... so until you can memorize these steps you might want to write them down.
