I will go from having 5 bars to no reception at all just in a matter of moving from one room to another. My roommates have perfect service using their US Cellular and Verizon phones, considering switching... .

T-Mobile uses Suncom (and Cingular) service in Charleston, and they're both spotty in and around Long Grove. Suncom is awful -- I drop calls most every time I cross the Wando Bridge on I-526.

Great reception all over Mt. Pleasant. Where I work just off the highway has a full signal just like where I live. I can use my phone all over and never have a problem. It sounds so clear it's like having my home phone in my pocket. I love the service and plan too. I'm on the one with My Circle and free texting. It saves me so much compared to my former provider, Verizon, and the signal is always better.

Have three Sprint phones. Of those, the Sanyo consistently has better reception than the Nokia and Samsung models. Both the Nokia and Samsung lose reception in the apartment, but the Sanyo holds rock steady at 1 to 2 bars. Very few dropped calls.

AT&T is marginal. I live at the front part of Park West across from the rec center and service is ok. Lately the calls are dropping more and more. Last year when I lived in a different section of Park West, near the first round about, reception was intermittent. If I am anywhere past the pool in Park West and in all of Dunes West, I get no service. Reception around the Charleston area is bad enough to have me switch carriers as soon as my contract is up. I get service on the Mark Clark WB up until I pass International then the calls drop, although it still shows 4 bars. It happenes all the time. I'm over AT&T.

Usually ZERO bars in 1st or 2nd level of House. But 3 or 4 bars at my dock. The only two towers I could locate were in a line with our row of houses. They need more towers in other directions. Their idea of help was to call every two weeks to see if they had decided to add more towers!

We had AT&T for years and had very little trouble in cities like Albuquerque, San Antonio, Huntsville but Mount Pleasant is a mess. I tried talking to AT&T and they showed no interest in fixing the problem. One of the rep told me to buy a micro wave antenna. I asked her if I need to buy a satellite with it too :). I am inclined to drop AT&T. They don't care so why should I. I am planning to buy a service from Cricket or TMobile this time. If you are in the market to buy a service please do not consider AT&T... they have become a monster. They want you to pay $220 even if they fail to provide signal.
