Reception seems to be getting instead of better. Many dropped calls or just no signal. Had to put Airave in the house to get reception. Just makes you mad that you pay them for service then pay them and use your bandwidth to use their service.

Very bad reception with this phone. Had a Tilt and got great reception anywhere in my house. Now I have to get my home phone turned back on. Not happy at all.

After several assurances from Verizon that we had good reception they came to our location. About 4 miles SE on 21 from I77 and then east on Neely Store Rd. They confirmed that the reception was very poor and would allow us out of the contract. However they did say they sell an antenna (not offered through stores) that may solve this. Also I see a booster may help. Cost may be as high as $800. Verizon took over Alltel recently. Anyone know if that may help? Any recommendations? Verizon said they have no plans for towers in this section of York County.

3.5 miles away from exit 77, I-77, going toward Lancaster (Hwy 5 exit) - service lost. Happens every time. Dead zone.

Am in Tech Soppurt in RHHS, an need reception everywhere in the campus. Spent 40min 9 / 21 with thier Tech Support and was repeatedly as was I near a window. Did the *228 thing many times, still get "Extended Networking / Roaming. From within the building I can't reach a coworker with the same phone..1 to zero bars standard Prior Alltel service was a 10, Verison = 2 Phone is useless

Great reception in Rock Hill and Columbia. Reception lowers out in Lesslie / country but still works with this phone. Stay in the city and everything is alright.

Well, the Hybrid PRL did not work with the comando. Support talked me into changing from the Alltel plan to verizon. That was useless. They did a study and said service was lousy here. Tech support told me that I could get out of my contract for free however upon calling back to try for the Prl one more time I was told that there was no mention of brekaing the contract on file. I will test ATT once again from comporium. Hope I won't have to buy a network extender from them.

The reception is poor with the comando. I had Alltel for years just a standard phone. it worked great but poor in the country areas. Now I switched from Verizon from lack of service coverage to Comporium ATT. That was the same. I bought a network extender and it didn't seem to help much. With ATT my old smart phone had no 3G service either. Now with Verizon at home if the phone rings or dials out I go to 5 bars. If the power goes out I am down to no bars and the signal strength is -120 or higher. Verizon is aware but they have no plans on putting another tower in. I recommend all customers from all services to contact their companies and complain for more or better towers. I think Alltel also had better customer service and tower strength. I did try the Hybrid PRL through Verizon to work with the Alltel towers. It seemed to help in town but it would not work with the extender and smart phones don't have as good reception as a standard cell phone has.

With a new Apple Iphone 4 I have been able to get consistently good 3G service throughout the Rock Hill area.

Lived here for two months and got cell reception at home exactly twice, received texts message. "CALL FAILED" is what I get after dialing any call from home. Need about 7 miles from Lake Wiley before I get reception, and I have messages days-old. I have zero bars in the house and one bar at the dock but no connectivity. Need to have wi-fi cell phone service because my internet at home has been fine.

Used to get good reception until about two months ago. We we able to use phone thoughtout the house. Now we have 0 bars. No reception at all. Going to change provider.

I am lucky if I walk to the end of my driveway and can use my phone. My broadband internet from Verizon is also very bad in my home but they will not let me out of my contract for the broadband at all. The say I have fine service but it only has 1 bar and is very slow for a high speed broadband! Thinking of switching all to AT&T.

We recently switched from Verizon to Alltel and now we get 2 to 3 bars inside our house. With Verizon we had zero to 1. I just hope the improvement is not temporary now that Verizon has purchased Alltel.

No reception at a three house radius on Oakhurst drive. I would ditch my home phone if I could get reception.

I used to have very good signal with AT&T inside the house on all my phones, but around June 1st 2009, the signal was so bad that I couldn't even talk to people when outside. No other provider is any better, so I guess I'm screwed.

Reception varies from 0 to 1 bars. Calls drop consitently. T-Mobile is next to useless here. By and large it is very spotty throughout SC. Would not recommend in this area. I was forced to switch to T-Mobile from AT&T by my employer. It's been a horror show. AT&T (Comporium) gave me good service throughout the region and seems to be the most reliable cell carrier here. :-(

Verizon's network is useless in the Charlotte / Rock Hill area. I do a lot of travel around the country. They are the best provider nationwide but not in this area. Motorola E815 is an older model phone but it works better than 4 other modern (Verizon)phones I tried. Do not use Verizon if you live in this area and have no plans to travel much. AT&T (GSM) network is much, much better for the area. I use prepaid GSM cell phone as a backup and it always has 3-5 bars with crystal clear call quality
