I had AT&T formerly Cingular, and I ported my number over to Verizon, not because of the signal strength issues, but because of customer service. I had the iPhone with AT&T and I have the BlackBerry Storm with Verizon wireless and the Blackberry gets stronger signal strength which I attribute to Verizon having closer / more towers in the immediate area. In my experience, I get what I have paid for both in the way of cell phone quality and customer service. Verizon costs more, but I get better customer service and complete coverage, in and around the Saint Matthews, Orangeburg, Charleston, and Columbia areas.
