Overall coverage on Spartanburg Community College campus is not all that bad. Just perfect coverage outdoors. The only problem is little (1 bar) coverage at some places indoors, But thats typical I guess. Near a window (with view to the south) is much better, being the tower is on the other side of the business 85 loop.

Where I live, I had little or no reception with AT&T / Cingular / Suncom (GSM) nor Verizon but had a very good signal with Alltel as well as Nextel. Overall I am pleased with Alltel as I sem to get a good signal most everywhere. Had a Cingular phone, worst coverage ever.. When I went to the Cingular store to complain, they said they were already aware of a dead spot near Oak Grove Plaza.

Have had AT&T for years with fair / good reception. Over the past couple months reception has declined to practically nothing. No bars, possibly one bar and every call is dropped. Switched to Verizon, and it was either no bars or possibly one on occasion. Switched again to Alltel. Although it is not great at least I can get calls through. What is going on in this area lately with cell phone reception???

AT&T has very poor reception in this area. Unless you're standing outside, forget about it. And it's hit and miss even then. Go with another provider. Verizon works better.

my Motorola phone 2 years + old, but great reception being less than 2 miles from downtown Spartanburg. Siemens phone has best quality and NO drops in and around town.

I always get reception all over Spartanburg. It's rare that I have less than 3 bars.

Decent Coverage Outdoors, but inside almost any building is a complete dead zone... I have called customer support several times in an attempt to figure out how to improve signal strength but they say its just a lack of towers >:( Either way, its great service in the rest of town just not as great near Spa. High.

There is a tower 1 mile from here, in Pierce Acres on Pineview Drive, with agreements with Nextel, Verizon, and Suncom. Still no Verizon service at my house and others nearby.
