Alltel reception in the Beresford area is problematic at best. The area is on the fringe of 2 tower sites. One to the north, the other to the south. Most phones will switch modes often. Mine switches often. Verizon has a tower in city limits (right behind my place of employment!), good for Verizon customers! This makes my phone switch between "D"or "A" Home and "D" or"A" Roam quite often. Although the roaming is a flashing one, it's still a pain. When trying to place a call, you are sometimes required to enter area code.

I had one or none signal bars consistently anywhere in the vicinity of Beresford. I used landlines if I needed to call somebody when there. I could place calls roughly 1 / 3 of attempts, but ensuing reception was usually bad.
