I had Alltel and it worked very well. Got booted to ATT and the service is really, really poor. No signal in my office on SDSMT campus. Occasionally can't make a call and get 'Emergency calls only' message. Later same location allows calls. ATT is a disaster.

I visited here last month and I must say I was very impressed with 3g roaming service I was provided. I must also say that no carrier makes it easier and more convenient than Sprint to use your phone where native Sprint service is not avalable. I had Verizon for years and I never knew what kind of roaming service I had or if I was going to have to pay extra? It was always very confusing. As with Sprint if you got a signal make the call and dont worry..Verizon must honor the 10 year contract that Sprint signed with Alltel before the merger. Only 6.5 years to Verizon hang in there old buddy. Verizon and Sprint should settle their differences and become one company so we can wipe ATT off the face of the earth! Same technology why not?

New tower installed about 100 yards away. Wife's Verizon has max signal. My AT&T has no signal.

No problems in Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish, and Belle Fourche

Reception is spotty in our house as well as the entire city. Dont try to talk and drive because you will loose the signal. Had to get a landline.

I was a little hesitant going with Alltel at first because I didn't know anybody with it. But I was tempted because their prices on my family plan saved a lot over my former Verizon plan. So far, the coverage has been really good. I'm happy with the switch and Alltel has some good plans. I have no problems at all along I-90. Signal will drop several places around the city to 1-2 bars but calls still go through clearly. I'm happy with service.

Phone reception sucks! Please don't buy plans from this company nor Tracfone. I'm going Verizon. I heard good things about them from friends living in Rapid City and Box Elder.

basically, no Nextel coverage in most of SD, ND, all of MT, WY
