Verizon is strong, clear and reliable. They have excellent customer and cellular service in this whole area.

I had Alltel and switched due to lack of service and AT&T coming in. I hated AT&T when I lived in MO. Verizon is really solid here. 3G is faster then Alltel and coverage is great. No dropped calls unlike with Alltel, and Customer service is great.

I have an older Nokia "candy bar" phone and the reception quality of it has been much better than other phones I have tried, including my work cell, a Motorola W315 and a friend's Razr. I think the newer phones have sacrificed antenna size and reception ability in exchange for smaller, more fashionable sizes. I think there'd be a huge market for a cellphone manufacturer who provided a little bit larger antenna, better reception, and marketed it as such. Phone choices are pretty limited with the local providers (Alltel and Verizon), mostly tiny flip phones. Anywayz, as far as reception, Alltel seems to be a little better than Verizon in most fringe areas, but Verizon is better in a few other fringe areas, just depends on where you spend your time. Alltel seems better on the river, Verizon better up on the flats. My biggest problem is I need a new phone now and doesn't look any good models available. :(
