I signed a 2 year contract with Alltel in another state and unexpectedly moved to Putnam County 6 months later. I'm stuck with this phone that gets just enough signal to ring in the house but no reception inside. I must talk outside on one bar of signal. Alltel tried to set me up on Sprint towers, but that didn't work. In Cookeville, my Alltel phone works great. Just don't leave the city limits and go inside anywhere.

i used AT&T when I lived in Ohio and it was great. Customer service was excellent as well and they are very military friendly ( discounts and they alowed me to suspend my service while I was serving in Iraq and resume it as I never left when I returned.) I have heard that there is new towers comming this year to putnam county. Any additional feedback on that would be appreciated.

for being within city limits I've dropped more calls at this intersection than anywhere else that I can think of. I believe it a problem between two towers handing the call off to the other.

I've been sending texts and making calls all over the campus. Some have been within buildings, some outside of buildings, but overall my cell phone use has been unimpeded. This is probably due to the great roaming coverage (Nextel is a Sprint ownership, so I can roam on their network). I called from the lowest level of the Roaden University Center, and though the call sounded a little fuzzy, it came through clearly. None of my texts have been hindered. It's great service, and I haven't found any reason to complain about Sprint yet.

Tried the Instinct, loved the phone, did not like the $100 / month required price... Nor the fact that 3 out of the 5 "test calls" from home dropped within a minute, despite having 2 bars of signal.

Good reception (4-5 bars, no dropped calls) at home. Decent signal on TTU campus. Leave town and the reception goes away; "no network" less than a mile outside the city limits south of town.

Continuous full service between Livingston and Cookeville. Verizon has the best coverage for rural areas. Switched from T-Mobile due to poor coverage.
