Continuous full service between Livingston and Cookeville. Verizon has the best coverage for rural areas. Switched from T-Mobile due to poor coverage.

I've been sending texts and making calls all over the campus. Some have been within buildings, some outside of buildings, but overall my cell phone use has been unimpeded. This is probably due to the great roaming coverage (Nextel is a Sprint ownership, so I can roam on their network). I called from the lowest level of the Roaden University Center, and though the call sounded a little fuzzy, it came through clearly. None of my texts have been hindered. It's great service, and I haven't found any reason to complain about Sprint yet.

Tried the Instinct, loved the phone, did not like the $100 / month required price... Nor the fact that 3 out of the 5 "test calls" from home dropped within a minute, despite having 2 bars of signal.

Good reception (4-5 bars, no dropped calls) at home. Decent signal on TTU campus. Leave town and the reception goes away; "no network" less than a mile outside the city limits south of town.

I get awesome service with Verizon. Never dropped a call. I'm not crazy about the chocolate phone, but I've had Verizon for a few years now and have had no trouble at all.

Most generally have excellent reception. Poor reception days are generally only during heavily overcast cloudy sky's. I even get decent reception in my basement which is surrounded on 3 1 / 2 sides by solid concrete walls and earth. Otherwise Verizon comes thru for us where as trac fone has limited signal and can only be answered outside. Cingular has NO SERVICE here. Nextel works real well here also.

I signed a 2 year contract with Alltel in another state and unexpectedly moved to Putnam County 6 months later. I'm stuck with this phone that gets just enough signal to ring in the house but no reception inside. I must talk outside on one bar of signal. Alltel tried to set me up on Sprint towers, but that didn't work. In Cookeville, my Alltel phone works great. Just don't leave the city limits and go inside anywhere.

My phone must be held high at a window and the phone's antenna must be extended to get this signal, but I usually can talk without dropping calls. Another family member has the Chocolate phone with Verizon and she has absolutely no signal at the same window.

for being within city limits I've dropped more calls at this intersection than anywhere else that I can think of. I believe it a problem between two towers handing the call off to the other.

I live at Dodson Branch Rd., all calls get out. When I got to Hillham Rd. (3 miles NE), I have no reception. VM use's Sprint towers and there is a tower (Tennessee RSA No. 3 LP) 2 miles from my house.
