I have had Sprint service for 4 years and have never had problems with reception. I travel ALOT (mostly major cities), and I have been thoroughly pleased with reception all over the lower 48 and Hawaii. Sure I drop a call every once in a while, but my god, compared to Cingular, ATT, and Verizon, its definitely the best... trust me, i've had all of them. If you buy a cheapo LG or something, it just won't work as well as a good Sanyo brand. I know of one weak service area in the hickory hollow area near apartments, but from what I hear everybody cuts out there. I have alot of friends with different carriers, and I always have signal indoor or out and all over town and into franklin, columbia and ALL the way down I-65 to Florida. Interstate coverage is EXCELLENT and so are all airports I have been to.

Verizon is the only carrier I can use inside the house. I tried Bell South Mobility and Cingular.

Have used Nextel for five years and have recently seen some degradation of service. Hillsboro and Highway 96 are trouble areas. I am looking to switch carriers and Verizon seems to be the leading candidate.

With Cingular, every other call was a dropped call. The person on the other line could always hear me, but i always had trouble hearing them. Half the time, it would say "Emergency Only" when trying to make a call. Signal strength would change constantly. One day it would work in my house, the next, I'd have to go outside to get it to work. Since I got Verizon, everything has gotten better. It works everywhere Cingular doesn't, and I've yet to drop a call (4 months).

I live in Smyrna, work in Cool Springs, and have never been able to have reception between the two. Switched from AT&T to Verizon, and calls make it from Smyrna to Franklin with great reception AND without being dropped. Highly recommend Verizon for the Williamson / Rutherford County area.
