I've been dealing with this problem with AT&T for months now. By their own admission, the towers in this area are over burdened and not able to handle the capacity. Despite giving me a $200 microcell, I'm still having signal issues. At 3AM I might have 3-4 bars, but at 10am I have no service. Microcell doesn't work if there is no signal at all. The problem is so bad that AT&T is letting me out of my contract for free. Before moving to Nashville I had no problems at all with AT&T. Since I've been dealing with them so frequently, I've found that some of their agents are nice and helpful and some are not. Don't let them give you the run-around. I called to cancel one phone and the guy said they needed to finish out the billing cycle (we were on day 1 of a new cycle), he gave me a song and dance about how difficult prorating the bill would be... finally I interrupted him and said "I'm not paying for another day on this phone". He said "ok" and that was it. You've just got to stand your ground, but be tactful with them.

Ocassionally when there's no clouds, I can get 1 bar on 3rd floor under the skylight. I get no bars outside in front or back yard or on 1st and 2nd floors. This causes battery drain, which shortens the life of my battery!

The service in Lake Forest subdivision is horrible. Cingular keeps telling me to upgrade. I upgrade 3 times and the reception is still bad. Verzion, and Sprint is also bad. Need more towers out here...
