I don't know own what happened but Verizion isn't very good now. Cricket blows them away at my house. Thinking I may switch ughh.

Coverage area ends behind our house. We are still dropping calls all over the place, despite shelling out $99 for a booster. (Though it did help, I have to admit.) Saw the AT&T installer working next door, and his AT&T phone was getting 4-5 bars out in the open of my driveway. I was getting two from Verizon. I'm looking to switch to AT&T I think.

I have been with Verizon for years and now their reception in my area is suddenly terrible. Having calls dropped throughout our area and dead spots that were never there previously. Looking for a new provider.

We move to M'ville in January 2016. Verizon said they covered our area. Right. The people next door can't buy Verizon as service ends at our house. Thanks. Dropping calls like crazy. Got the $99 booster and it is helping a lot. I will look into TMobile and see what they offer. Luckily we don't have contracts, and they said even we did, if they couldn't service us, they'd let us terminate a contract. I mean how hard can it be to know that in a hilly area, you're going to have to put up more towers. DUH.

I have had Verizon since the first day they offered service here in Maryville / Alcoa / knoxville. We have had it for 20 plus years. My husband works in Knoxville- great coverage- we lived in Alcoa for 25 years- great coverage-we have additional home in Pigeon Forge-great coverage. Moved to west Maryville right past Maryville College 5 months ago - no coverage. They sold us network extender and PROMISED coverage, still no coverage. With extender drop calls in the house at least 15 times a day! Absolutely NO coverage outside for at least 3 miles each direction. They keep working with us and they say we have no towers in this area! REALLY???? We have 7 phones on our account and the two phones in the west Maryville area- no coverage! The ones in the middle of the mountains we get great coverage. We lived in a three level home with concrete block and brick and never drop a call. Move to a one level with Sheetrock and brick and no coverage. Been told by them cell phones are not meant for house usage! OMG! We are in the MIDDLE of the city, not in the outskirts and we have no coverage! According to some of these reviews Verizon has known about this problem for YEARS and done nothing to rectify the situation! PROMISES, PROMISES.. If I had known this before I would not purchased my dream home,I hate it that bad! I got so frustrated watching within 30 minutes of TV one evening, 3 commercials seeing the stupid man standing on a mountain saying "can you hear me now " when I can't get coverage in the middle of a city ! SO I am so frustrated I had dropped 3 phone calls with Dr. Office in 10 minutes so not able to get necessary medical results so I drove to Verizon store and made my calls to Drs offices explaining to the offices why I was not able to hear or dropped the calls so I came to Verizon store in Turkey Creek to make important medical calls and appts.,! Oh yes I DID.. And I am not some teenager or a smarta**. I am 55 years old and tired of this crap of paying almost $400 a month and paying for 7 phones and getting coverage on 5! Verizon, you suck!

Reception has deteriorated in this area the last few months. Verizon issued ticket#NBR000007909357 and agreed service is almost non-existent. Offered $75 of a $250 in home "service extender" that would hooks to the high speed internet I pay for. My contract is over, I am ending our 12 year relationship!

At&t is the only carrier that DOESN't get cell service where I live. Most everyone else does

Verizon service has deteriorated over the past several months in the neighborhood behind Maryville college (trouble ticket NRB555556523479 confirmed by multiple residents). Verizon said they have no plans to address the problem after boosters unsuccessful.

I actually have Straight-talk from Walmart, but the service provider for my phone is Verizon; I have to say my reception at home is good, and around Maryville it is excellent. I have been in Jefferson City and on the lake in Dandridge and my service never lapsed. I would definitely recommend Straight-talk to anyone.
