My service is HORRIBLE with AT&T! All my coe workers and family say it too! Yesterday 13 coe workers switched to Verizon and have full service and 3G service too. My iPhone switches from 3G with 0-1 bar to EDGE with 2 bars. My calls always drop and data is slow. They have the Tour and there data is fast. Im moving my whole family to Verizon today. This is stuipd AT&T. Verizon here I come!
AT&T service in Memphis is still pathetic, especially since the upgrade from iPhone 3G to 3GS. OS 3.0 has killed my ability to use Wifi, so I have to "rely" on my 3G service (which is basically non-existent). I haven't had much problem using 3G in the downtown Memphis area, but out East in the burbs it is absolutely horrible. I advise against AT&T and I myself am looking into switching to Verizon. I just wish they had the iPhone... I'm spoiled to it now!
I show a lot of bars - but have a lot of dropped calls - (a lot) - and alot of error in connection or Net work busy. I have had good service for about 14 years but poor quality in last several months with no explanation. I use for business and it is not working - am having to look for alternative.
I have called ATT and called and called and called. I work at home so this is a critical problem for me. After threatening to take full page ad in the local newspaper, ATT finally sent a tech around who confirmed that there was no service from my driveway. ATT's way of placating me was to give me a one-time $50 refund -- my cell phone bill averages $400+ per month. They PROMISED it was being fixed within a three month period. THAT WAS TWO YEARS AGO AND STILL NO IMPROVEMENT. It is the bill I hate to pay the most.
AT&T service terrible. Business contract; called them. They told us they did not have enough subscribers in the area to upgrade their (poor) service. Not willing to consider that an area with 3 hospitals, 2 nursing schools, optics school, medical school, high school, and about 6 medical office buildings (average 6 stories per) wouldn't have many residents, but lots of transient subscribers. Had to switch to Sprint, which works reasonably, or Verizon (works well).
The worst reception since the take over of ATT - In my house usually 1 bar - at work 1 bar - not happy and I just upgraded the phones - thought that might help - it has not. Before the take over I was 4 bars at work and most often at least 3 bars in the house
