I have never had a dropped call. I am the only one to get calls in the elevators, basements, hallways, etc. I will be with Verizon for as long as I live here.
Just switched to Sprint PCS. Very good reception out east on Winchester. No dropped calls and good signal strength. Have the Samsung A560 phone, works for me, basic and very solid.
I love T-Mobile, i've had them for 2 1 / 2 years and never have had any problems out of them other than a few dead spots around the Mt Moriah and Emerald area. Works great when out of town and over seas. For the price you really can't beat it.
Reception was pretty good until Sprint bought out Nextel. Now I can't get service even at I240 and Poplar. Glad I don't have a service agreement, searching for a new carrier now. Goodbye Sprint-Nextel!
Neither party on call can understand each other. Calls are very spotty inside house, and outside. Has gotten much worse over past 6 months. Cingular has no answers, claims service is great. I have 4 bars, but terrible service. Every airplane or train going by interferes with service. Cingular has swapped my phone - same problems. Calls may get better in other locations, but has to be near an interstate.
VA hospital area extremely poor reception. Another area is Highland and some side streets. Works great everywhere else! Drove thru Mississippi on I-55 without too much difficulty. Occasional dropped calls during trip. I'm happy overall.
No reception at all on the first floor of my house, unless I stand by the kitchen window. Anywhere else in Memphis, reception is good. Note that Cingular's roaming maps are questionable unless you're on the Interstate. Move just a few miles into the hinterland and you're on your own.
