Being I have been with Sprint, Verizon, and am now an AT&T customer, I can say honesty if you work around macon and have Verizon or Sprint you will have no reception at the corner by walgreens or anywhere really around town. I say AT&T is a little high but I always can use my phone which means alot because I work in computer repair and never know what I may run into. Btw if you have been with Sprint less then two mouths they have a contract test run you have two mouths to decide if you like them.GOODLUCK... Hopefully you can get out that contract.

Very, very poor reception even in the building downtown where I work. Was at Methodist Germantown recently on first floor near the ER. I had no signal. My daughter who has Verizon, let me use her Droid that had 3 BARS! I have the G1 and we also have several flip phones made by different manufacturers, that also perform the same as the G1. Spoke with T-Mobile several times who haven't done anything. Spoke with a rep recently, who was very blunt when I told her of the problems we were having and that the techs who were suppose to had called me never called. She told me "well seems nothing can be done, that's why they never called you".

Like Mr. Douglas on Green Acres, I have to go outside my house to take / make a call. This site's map shows one T-Mobile tower in the area, conveniently close to Smith and Nephew's HQ (company that provided the phone), so the mobile phone worked GREAT at my desk... .where I already had a landline.

I hardly ever have reception, 75% of my calls get dropped, and WiFi never works. I can't stand ATT.

AT&T service in Memphis is still pathetic, especially since the upgrade from iPhone 3G to 3GS. OS 3.0 has killed my ability to use Wifi, so I have to "rely" on my 3G service (which is basically non-existent). I haven't had much problem using 3G in the downtown Memphis area, but out East in the burbs it is absolutely horrible. I advise against AT&T and I myself am looking into switching to Verizon. I just wish they had the iPhone... I'm spoiled to it now!

I got horrible reception on Mus Island. So much so that I paid the $10 extra a month for roaming and set my phone on automatic roaming. 9 times out of 10 I was using other carrier's towers. In the end, Sprint ended up having to pay these companies so often that they asked us (I was on a family plan with people in Ohio) to switch carriers before the end of our 2 yr contract.

AT&T service terrible. Business contract; called them. They told us they did not have enough subscribers in the area to upgrade their (poor) service. Not willing to consider that an area with 3 hospitals, 2 nursing schools, optics school, medical school, high school, and about 6 medical office buildings (average 6 stories per) wouldn't have many residents, but lots of transient subscribers. Had to switch to Sprint, which works reasonably, or Verizon (works well).
