I get nearly full reception everywhere around town. The only time I lose some signal is coming into Green Hills on Hillsboro, from Old Hickory. Other than that, I've never had problems or even dropped calls! My only complaint is that we don't use 700 minutes between us, and would like fewer minutes per month to save some money. Not finding another carrier though that has that, short of going pre-paid.
My phone will not ring along Wimbledon Road. It is not until later that I leave this road that I receive a missed call notification and subsequently a voicemail.
Can't get more than 1 / 2 bar inside home and sometimes no signal at all. Most of the time I have to go outside to get a signal of 1 / 2 to 1 bar. Then I can go back inside, but drop calls over 50% of the time. I can throw a rock from my front porch and hit I40. You would think I would get better reception being so close to a major interstate. BTW, there are no towers that I can see from my property, so it isn't a case of I being below them. Verizon has said they would check this out for the last 8 months or so. Yesterday I was told that a service man for my area would call me at 9:30am today. It is now 4pm and I haven't heard from them yet, and don't expect to if history is any indication.
AT&T is the worst service around. Don't get Cingular / ATT, the MOST dropped calls and the worst connection possible. I am locked into this contract until Feb 09 - and will be switching - it almost makes me want to go back to a Land line only phone. For the amount of money all these cell phone services charge everyone, they have made a killing.
I am living on Edmondson Pike and works at Grassmere Park area. At both the places I hardly receives signals and call drops often. I have to come-out or come near to window to talk over phone.
Horrible horrible reception using verizon. Calls are constantly dropped. Often can not dial out. Go from 5 bars to 0 bars constantly. I have not had more than a 5 minute conversation in the 6 years that I have lived in East Nashville. I don't know how their engineers managed to design anything as they have no real idea what is the problem. Have had the same issues with two others phones with Verizon. They're big, final answer "I'm sorry, we just can't guarantee coverage". Answer, "I'm sorry, but I just can't be your customer any longer".
