Had reasonable reception in 2000 when we bought here. Verizon reoriented their cell antenna for "better coverage" and making us in an extreme fringe area. They only have one antenna in the area, on Mt. Roosevelt. Their solution: let us out of our contract.

Little or no reception on smart phones. 3G is a rarity. Regular phones seem to get much better reception. Have complained to Verizon on numerous occasions. All they want me to do is call from another phone, which I don't have, so they can run tests on it. I have done this before, and the only thing they can come up with is the terrain. But that does not explain why regular phones work, but smart phones don't. Neighbor has a Droid X and her husband has a regular phone. He can make and receive calls inside the house. Her Droid X will not receive any calls inside the house, and she has to go outside to make a call.

Never a dropped call, good signal strength, and no static when communicating with other US Cellular customers-always good service with US Cellular. Only time there has been an issue is when calling a customer with a different service provider that's when we get the static or bad reception from the other person- Maybe the phone as well as the service provider should be considered when choosing a plan.
