Reply to poster from Stewart's Ferry: The airport has nothing to do with your cell reception. ATC frequencies and other frequencies involving aircraft are nowhere even remotely near cellular frequencies in the spectrum. I am at / around the airport all the time and my signal is always pegged-out. If you live at Stewart's Ferry Apartments and live down by the dam (down in a hole, basically), it doesn't surprise me that your signal isn't all that great.

Years ago we could not get reception at the Sam Ridley Pkwy. Kroger store. We were also with another carrier back then. Now I plan to cancel our landline service and use our Verizon cell phones exclusively. No problems with reception anywhere in the house or in Smyrna that I have found.

I switched my family from Cingular to Verizon because with Cingular we couldn't use get signal in our house and poor signal around the area. I would stand in the middle of the smyrna kroger without any signal and watch others on their phone carring on conversations. Now with verizon, we have great signal in the house and in the kroger. Wish verizons plan was more similar to cingulars, but I will pay what ever for good service.
