This is a dead zone for AT&T almost. Inside you can't get anything. Outside you can get 1-2 bars. There is no 3G service, only EDGE. EDGE is slow compared to 3G. I was sick of it and started seeing the new Verizon Wireless TV ads. I went by and checked out the phones and plans. I ported me and my 4 lines (5 all together) to Verizon Wireless and the service is outsdanding here. I get full service all over the area. I even have 3G data here. The speeds are fast. I don't drop any calls, and they come in clear. Very happy with Verizon Wireless. I love Friends and Family. Calling to 10 numbers not on Verizon is great. I will be getting my friends to switch. My family has already switched. 1303 East St. is where the Verizon Wireless tower is located. It's knows as Wwc Texas RSA LP in Texas.

In our Abernathy home just inside Lubbock county, coverage comes and goes. Four bars one minute, "no service" the next. A call to AT&T customer service ended with them recommending I get a signal booster for my house. Clearly they don't expect coverage to improve. Very frustrating, considering we are on I-27. Travelers are out of luck.

My RAZR v. 3 has poor to no reception in the Abernathy area. It constantly beeps that it is in or out or coverage and you can depend on it to drop calls in that area -without a doubt.
