If you like not being able use your phone to receive or make calls or text in your house my all means get T-Mobile I have call and have had many talks with customer service and though they are very nice and unlike other company they are here in the U.S. their solution or advice for better reception was to up grade my phone too one that had internet capability UN-knowing to them we have 3 phones in the house and the other two are as new as they come and yes internet capability with same results when I ask the T-Mobile reps. here in Abilene there answer is I have the same problem with my own phone silly right they so willing too put these phones on our hands just too make a buck why are we letting them... ... well you get the point I hope

My work is on Sprint, and the service is horrible. My data is slow (no 3G) and my calls always drop. We usually roam on Verizon in side out work anyway. This is our last month with Sprint thank goodness. They are switching to Verizon Wireless. Switched to Verizon, and the service is great. I don't know why the Alltel people are having problems. Make sure you do *228 option 2 to update your phones. I had AT&T and it was horrible. Verizon is great. I go all over Texas and have not had any problems. Maybe you need to upgrade your phones to Verizon phones so they will work right, after all, it is Verizons network now and you are using an Alltel phone. I have a lot of friends and family about to switch to Verizon too.

Alltel was okay, VERIZON that took over Alltel SUX. Sorry, usually no reception inside house, good when get closer to Abilene. And the service with Verizon, have you ever talked to service people, they are RUDE, and do not take care of problem, just keep charging for more and more with crappy service- GOODBYE VERIZON... .

We switched from Sprint to Alltel nearly one year ago; then Verizon bought out Alltel. In Abilene, we have very good reception and haven't had any problems with service. However, when we travel south to Kerrville, TX we have very poor or no reception at all. Even SE to Austin and East to Dallas, the reception is poor with dropped calls with very poor reception right in the middle of Dallas, TX! We don't know what service to choose, but we are thinking of switching again when our contract is up next year.

After giving T Mobile 3 chances to repair a "known" problem with the reception in my area, I called to see about canceling my contract. I pay my bill, they provide service. That's how a contract is supposed to work. I payed the hundreds of dollars to get away from that company early rather than deal with them another day.

Coverage along US 277 / 83 has been really good. I have good reception in other areas of town as well. Alltel sells service in Abilene so coverage should be good all over. I have never had any problems with reception. Always had 4-6 bars in the areas of town I have been in.

Every cell carrier has problems, but as a broadcast engineer that relies on cell phone coverage to do my job, Cingular (AT&T) has been the absolute best system I have used. My company has tried every other carrier available in Abilene, and has always returned to Cingular. There's a reason I've been with them for over 7 years!

I can't make calls in my house at all. Called T-Mobile and they say I'm in a dead zone. Before I got the phone they assured my service. Hello! Southwest Wal-mart. CALLS FAILED! T-Mobile please put up more towers. The only plus is the my faves, but how good is that when you can't get a call out.

Cingular is the best service I have ever used. I am in the military and go to many other states; this service is second to none.

T-mobile is by far the best service to get if you live in Abilene. Their customer support is superb (#1 by JD power), and hardly ever do I have any dropped calls. Sprint has problems if you're not sitting under the tower, and my friends who have Cingular have problems in the Cingular store that the employees can't explain. If you're looking for new service, get T-Mobile and never look back (except to laugh at your friends with Cingular)

CINGULAR reception in Abilene is bad! Stay away... People across street had Sprint with great reception. I switched to Cellular One- great reception.

i had Cingular just after they switched to gsm and it was a joke. my phone hardly ever worked and when it did it would drop my calls like crazy. Cingular said it was my phone and not there service so I bought a Nokia 3100 and still the same thing but this time my phone would turn off constantly. take my advise and stay far far away from cingular.

sprint PCS has great service here in abilene,we currently only have t mobile, cingular, Sprint and verizon(barely). I have never had less than 2 bars. I would highly recomend them over anyone else here in town. t mobile is new here and I guess they still have some issues to work out. there reception is VERY spotty. you'll have full reception and then none standing in the same place. and Cingular is just horrible like always.

Verizon Wireless (America's Choice) worked with 5 bars on the Verizon Extended Network; however, features such as Text Messaging, Call Forwarding, Mobile Internet, etc. will NOT work. Although Verizon Wireless doesn't provide service in Abilene, it will work well within the city. If you are traveling South, anywhere below Buffalo Gap will be roam.
