Reception seems okay for the most part. But the call drops in the middle of a conversation although I haven't moved from my chair. Can't explain the sudden loss of signal strength. Since my contract is over, I was considering maybe a switch to Cingular.

Dropped calls, choppy reception.

In neighborhood near Wm. Cannon / Manchaca..no bars! What's with Cingular? I drop more often, much more than in the past. When near Austin city hall, I cannot make a call for several blocks. Saw a guy jabbering on his and asked him his carrier..Verizon. Several I've talked to like them. That's where I'm heading when my contract is up.

I have to go out side my house to use my phone. This is not good in Cold, Hot, or Rainy Weather.

T-Mobile has poor receiption in the 78730 area. I drive from the UT area to close to Emma Long Park and can get up to 10 droped calls (I don't even try anymore). Customer Service is poor. Don't bother with this T-Mobile service if you live in GlenLake, WestministerGlen or River Place and want to use your phone while in the car.

Sprint has great reception in South Austin

great reception 100% of the time in my apt and everywhere in Austin.

Horrible, horrible! Can not use phone along Mesa or Far West. When will Cingular fix this mess?

Cingular most pathetic service in the whole country. My phone does not ring when someone makes a call. Cingular says they can't route the call! It's been 15 days. Customer support people are very aggogant and unfriendly(especially a guy by name "schlote williams". Hopeless, pathetic service. Getting out of this network this week.

I live and work in 78702 and I can't use my cell phone at home or at my office. There is a tiny area between them - i'll get good service for about 2 blocks - then nothing.

Signal drops all the time when I am talking at home. There is a single spot in the house where I can get reception and even there it is not consistent. The bars are 0 to 2. Elsewhere it has been flaky as well but not as bad as at home.

I will frequently get dropped calls. Usually about half of my calls end because it was dropped. I switched to using Skype Out for making calls.

One bar at home, completely unreliable for outbound and inbound calls. (TDMA service). Also bad / unreliable out 2222 between 360 and 620.

We had ATT for years and switched a year after the merger because we were told that our reception would improve with Cingular since they were no longer upgrading the ATT towers. What a HUGE mistake that was. Cingular has the worst reception I have ever experieced in the 10 years I have had cell phones. It has gotten to the point where it is almost impossible to conduct business anymore. Constant droped calls, calls that just scramble in the middle of a conversation and the network alway too busy to make a call. I may as well be sending smoke signals.

Our telephones do not work at all on our property.. and rarely while driving around Rollingwood Texas.. which is only 5 miles from the Texas capitol in Austin.

My location is not even a mile from this crossing. I can't use my phone in the house, and sometimes not even outside or in the local street. Cingular shrugs it's shoulders and says there is nothing they can do.

Occasionally my reception will be clear, and T-Mobile has a funny habit of showing more signal bars than I think they actually have. T-Mobile is the worst about dropped calls, but if you don't get your call dropped, it's usually pretty clear. West campus generally SUCKS no matter what cell service you have. If you can afford it, get a land line for more reliability.

Just signed up with this service. thank god I have 14 days to cancel. Terrible reception inside my apt. and I live up high on a hill. Totally drops calls and when it does complete a call, if it completes a call, then the static is so bad. I gotta find a better network.

Poor reception and dropped calls in areas that should not experience this problem. When I was with Sprint, I did not experience near as many dropped calls nor poor reception in the Austin area. I switched due to poor customer service and only poor reception when driving to the Waco, Texas area to visit family in a small town (reception was terrible ). Who offers the best service??
