Don't let the bars fool you - the reception is crap. I've been told by AT&T that I'm just inside a pocket of "moderate" 3G coverage, and they recommend I try E instead. I get voicemail notifications all the time without having missed a call. The worst thing is that when people call, it rings twice then goes silent for about 10 seconds, during which time most people just hang up and tell me later that my phone is messed up!

Horrible reception here with Sprint. Apparently the Treo Pro doesn't help either. I really want to cancel my contract. Sprint has been absolutely no help. They kind of just say sorry your in a bad area. They really shouldn't sell me their service if it doesn't work. Hopefully I can use this leverage of the fact that where I live is a kind of dead zone to get out of the disconnect fee.

HORRIBLE reception in my apartment complex. I SOMETIMES will get a flicker of reception- but even then it varies and fades in and out in various areas of my apartment. I sometimes won't know I got a call, voicemail or text message till I am well out in the parking lot of my apartment complex. It blows.

What good is a cell phone if it doesn't work at your house? We've tried 3 different phones. Clearly, TMobile's coverage over here stinks.

I get zero reception inside my apt. It doesn't even work with the edge network even though my phone reads 4 bars. I thought the poor reception was due to my last phone, apparently not. I live within 120 yards of a major freeway. 3G barley picks up when I am outside. Bottom line the service just sucks in this area.

unable to complete phone calls both inside and outside the house. AT&T had great service before Cingular bought them and they "UPGRADED" Service has not improved with the addition of 5 new towers in my area that they promised would be helping my signal strength here.

TREO phones and ATT service do nto go together. Regularly miss calls, voice manil does not pick up... .as a Realtor I travel all over Austin. Some days the phone works, other days... .it doesn't pick up calls. I get the missed call message hours or days later. Weekends are expecially bad for reception. I tihnk it is an ATT issue, and this type of phone is not known to be that great for reception. I am on my third TREO... .screens go out and ATT replaces them for me. They all suck.

Fairly good coverage in the area. Call quality is usually good; though, there are a few random dropped calls. I've found the coverage better than Sprint's coverage in Austin. Though, Verizon needs to update their phone selection. I've had my phone for two years and none of the Verizon phones look appealing. AT&T has the iPhone, Sprint has the Pre, and Verizon has a stripped-down Blackberry with no wi-fi. I'm trying to decide whether to wait on Verizon getting the Pre or jumping ship to AT&T for the iPhone.

Atrocious reception at my own house... often cannot even hold a conversation. Other side can't hear me, call drops... really bad. Just signed a 2-year contract to get my Blackberry... nightmarish. If you live in this area, do yourself a favor and get another carrier...

Constant dropped calls. If not every call, every other call. I always enjoy it when the Sprint customer service person says, "I can't hear you, you are really breaking up." I like to point out that I am roughly in the center of Austin. I always give my Sprint commercial: Don't use sprint, don't ever use sprint, dear God don't use sprint. or "You can't hear me now." -my personal favorite.

According to the tower coverage map on this site, there AREN'T any Verizon towers in my area of Austin! I get maybe 3 bars in my yard and only 1-2 bars in my house. Where I work I fluctuate between 0-1 bar all day long. I've also called cust svc and was told he just couldn't believe they were having a problem with so many towers in Austin - it had to be my phone. This is a brand new phone, and I had the same problem with my previous phone which was a newer model that I traded in. Verizon needs more towers in South Austin.

Generally T-Mobile anywhere in Austin, Texas, US is spotty to poor. Static a lot on the calls, regardless of number of bars. Often can't even connect to other T-Mobile phones (e.g. family plan stuff). Not real happy with them but other than Verison, it seems par for all other carriers her based on other posts.
