AT&T Wireless (TDMA)

Lived in the same house for 10 yrs - always used AT&T TDMA, which has been great, until Cingular bought them - it has been down hill ever since. Poor reception, dropped calls, etc. - thought it was because Cingular was pushing GSM and dropping support of the TDMA system, but after reading this board, I am not so sure I want to switch! Who has good coverage in Shady Hollow??

Only 1 bar in GSM mode at my house in the Millbrook neighborhood (Parmer and McNeil).

One minute it's up, the next it's down. At night it works. It takes the day off, dropping calls to the point that it takes 2-4 calls to communicate a 3 minute message. Hey, but what's better?

Poor signal strength for T-mobile. Also had problems in Barton Skyway area with missed calls.

Many of the calls I get I can't answer and the phone says "Unable to answer call". wtf??? Most of the calls I place discon before the first ring when I first try to place the call, but go thru fine the second attempt. Whatever. I switched from a Treo on Sprint which I was very please with until I moved out here to the east side and found that I couldn't use my Sprint phone AT ALL! They said they were putting a new tower up in about 6 months but wouldn't do anything in the interim, dispite me having a $500+ / mo acct. that kinda pissed me off so I switched to T-Mobile because my brother said his phone worked good at my house. I'd switch back the minute my contract was up except I'm starting to like this PocketPC phone with cell / bt / wifi! (yes! all three) Maybe Sprint will throw up a tower out here and pull their heads out regarding their w-e-i-r-d policy about crippling phone's potential network capabilities.

Almost every call gets dropped. Sometimes if I walk outside my frame house, I can complete a call. I hate T-Mobile and Sony Ericsson.

Switched to Cingular and found it to be the absolute worst carrier I've had in 7 years. Constant dropped calls, echoes / poor reception, missed calls, inability to dial out. Phone was replaced, but not without much haggling and speaking with over a dozen people at various levels within Cingular. Reception is still a mess, yet Cingular only dodges the issue at this point and won't admit to dead spots in this area. ATT&T / Nokia TDMA was flawless, and as near to a land line over cellular as I've seen... What a mistake it was to switch!

My GSM reception bites. I regret ever changing over from TDMA to AT&T GSM.

I just bought this phone after my last phone went thru the washing machine. The signal has been horrible. Dropped calls, poor signal strength, just bad reception.
