Don't let the bars fool you - the reception is crap. I've been told by AT&T that I'm just inside a pocket of "moderate" 3G coverage, and they recommend I try E instead. I get voicemail notifications all the time without having missed a call. The worst thing is that when people call, it rings twice then goes silent for about 10 seconds, during which time most people just hang up and tell me later that my phone is messed up!
Reception isn't a problem in south austin, but I work out in dripping springs and there is zero reception out there (but, to be fair, the cricket map shows that this area gets no coverage)
T-Mobile service has been superb. With other carriers I have experienced unclear calls, problems making calls, and dropping calls. Since starting to use T-Mobile, my experience has improved dramatically.
I live in the oak knoll / mcneil area and I get perfect coverage inside my duplex and outside... . NO dropped calls and perfect reception. Funny that I put in my zip code for T-Mobile and was weary that I wouldn't get good reception according to their map, but I haven't had one problem thus far!
I have always had really good service from Sprint never having dropped a call in my area or anywhere in Austin with this phone. My roommates Samsung phone drops a lot of calls though, seems like its all about how good your phone is.
great reception never dropped a call never choppy great service. never had an issue with billing or with customer service. very happy with Sprint and my phone
