Little or no reception within 1 / 2 mile radius of intersection. 70-80% of all calls established will drop.

Well, since my old digital StarTac was so near to perfect, I signed up for the weave of the future, the GSM system. Biggest mistake I believe I have ever made. The bright side is that I only have 20 months to go on my contract.

I have been a T-Mobile customer for 5 years. I used to love their customer service, and their phones for the most part. They would fix problems, they took care of you. NOW, they give you nothing but excuses and lies. They have horrible coverage, and given there are 4 different phones, that is really bad. You have to call phones up to 7 times to get through, and you drop calls all the time. Reception is spotty, and when you are lost trying to find your way with your phones GPS, that is BAD! And, on top of everything else, when we bought my daughters phone, it was not working properly, so they sent us a new one out. It wouldn't even turn on! And when my phone started having issues, they sent me a replacement phone that was worse then the one I already had! After 5 years, I am leaving T-Mobile!

No dropped calls yet with simplefreedom, but signal quality is potluck. Bars are not the problem. I routinely get 4+ bars regardless of location in town or enclosure (house, car, outdoors, etc.). Only a few times has it dropped below 3 with no noticeable change in quality when it did. Having said that, more than half of the connections are choppy, sometimes to the point of not being able to carry on a convo at all. This occurs in both analog or digital modes and regardless of bar number. At 25 cents / min., forced repeated redials just to establish a stable connection is far too wasteful / costly! Fortunately, simplefreedom is a no contract, pay-as-u-go service, which is a good way of testing services before you commit. If Alltel doesn't clean up their connections, I will drop THEM.

Reception bounces between "searching system... " and 5 bars. Calls can be crystal clear and then drop in the middle. The frustrating part is that the battery will go dead overnight searching for a signal. Verizon is, of course, unresponsive.

Horrible reception, I can't hear calls inside or out of the house. Just signed on with Cingular 2 weeks ago. The worst thing I could have done. I might as well have no cell phone at all, and now I am stuck in a 2 year contract. As with all the other complaints about Cingulars bad reception I have read about it's a wonder they are still in business, and of course there's nothing a person can do but stay and have no cell or pay an additional $150.00 to get out of the contract and reward Cingular for a service it did not provide.
