There are alot of major issues going on with Sprint in the brownsville area, many dead spots. No internet connection either.

Every hour ranges from full 3G to Edge to plain basic AT&T to nothing but Searching. Sometimes no signal at all for over an hour at a time.

Very good reception anywhere on campus, including the golf course (which is right next to the Rio Grande river). Excellent reception at home by the old Amigoland Mall.

Sprint data cards are turned off when you are very near the border. I got an engineer to admit that to me. The reason is Telmex complains when their service enters mexico as they are supposed to have exclusive coverage in Mexico. Sprint cancelled it with out any problem when I brought it up.

Sprint works well for me and I usually get around 4 or 5 bars anywere.

There is a dead spot in the are of 511 and El naranjal are in Brownsville Tx 7821. In my work place I don't get any signal at all plus if I need internet I have to connect with wifi. That sucks and plus I'm paying too much for the service and yet I'm even getting what I'm paying for. Please Sprint needs to make major updates to the towers.

daughter cant use Sprint phone in school. In building or outside school She gets no bars... .no reception Is this normal with Sprint in this high school.

I carry an Alltel phone for personal use and a Cingular phone through work. It seems like I know a few more people on Cingular just among my friends and family, but the Alltel coverage really is great all around Brownsville and the area here and in my opinion the better provider. The real difference seems to be that inside the signal doesn't drop off as fast. Inside places like Wal-Mart or brick houses, it's a huge difference because Alltel is so much better. When I get down to 1 bar outside of town my Alltel calls still sound normal while Cingular is very buzzy and full of static. It just seems like Alltel does a little better than anybody else here and their plans, at least in my comparison, were a lot better by giving more minutes and you can choose who you have unlimited calling to. Alltel customer service is so much more helpful than AT&T / Cingular's huge corporate attitude if you ever have a problem. After trying them both, the choice of the provider to go with is an easy choice for me.

Reception here is great all over the valley to the island Cingular has the best reception here in the valley.

Older phone, but wonderful reception. Several professors at this fast-growing university are finding trouble with newer phones (particularly those under service with Cingular).
