Apt complex Jason and Sandhurst lane.. 1-0 bars in side - 3-4 outside.. Dropped calls in kitchen. Sprint said get AIR RAVE @ $100 then $10 mo to boost signal inside. May try Wi-Ex zBoost YX300 if can find one with 30 day money back guarrantee. Holding out to see if Verizon gets iPhone then switching.
Both of my Motorola V3 (2G phone) and iphone 3gs (set on 2g mode) has numerous dropped calls, intermittent poor reception, and "call failed" (unable to connect incoming and outgoing calls) starting Oct. 2009. Tried other 2g phones with same results. So AT&T recommend going with only a 3g type phone and pay an extra $20 or $30 per month data plan on top of my current plan for the 3g priviledge to get better voice calls. Man, that's how they drain every bit of money from their customers.
Reception rating is 4 or 5 bars, but calls from inside my highrise condo are dropped on a regular basis. Considering the monthly fees, this is very disappointing.
There is a router that you can get from your carrier if you can find the right person to talk to. If you pay for free roaming the carrier has to pay for roaming charges so it would be cheaper for them in the long run. People who live in high rise apartments usual need this item. I was told it works like a mini tower and has a 500 ft. range.
Horrible Service. Dropped Calls. Inside house it is a guessing game if a call will come through. My wife is on an Iphone with ATT and we can sit and call my Sprint from her ATT and she will get my voice mail sitting in the same room. She does not seem to have problems on her phone but I on the other hand talk 8000m - 10000 minutes per month and I have all kinds of issues with sprint. Guess I am switching and hoping that ATT will work all day long.
Sprint for a decade now, and there is still a dead zone on the tollway by the Galleria, and also on Lovers Lane west of Inwood all the way to Lemmon / Love Field. This has been a very consistent issue with my last three phones, a Treo, a Samsung something, and a Star Tac. I sorely miss my Star Tac, best phone ever. The Treo has held up to some awful abuse, including being dropped in the toilet, out the car window, onto concrete, and once it was thrown accidentally about 20 feet. Sprint is great when it's great, and unbearably bad when you have to call customer service. Also, every phone needs to be "reset" or some sort of magic at the local Sprint store if I travel to another city. Other than that, Sprint doesn't drop very many calls. It seems that if you get a dropped call then you will have a bunch of dropped and missed calls for a day or two, then it clears back up, which I suspect is a network issue. At least you can make a call when it's raining -- my landline had issues every time it rained.
