I have had great reception in the north Dallas area. I work all over dallas, and the only area I have noticed with problems is just west of Park & Preston. Girlfriend has AT&T GSM... not too pleased with her Samsung phone.

When my phone is not in use I see 3-5 bars but when I use it I find that I juggle between 0-2 bars.

I begin waving my phone all around in the air searching for a single spot to place a call. I get, at best, two bars when anywhere within two blocks from my house. So, I quickly place the call, moving my ear to some akward level with two bars. Then, as always, I hear, "Hello, Hello, Hello, I'm sorry I can't hear you." When I realize no bars are showing, I search again and am able to say one word as the bars go from two to none. So I search again and again.

Kingsgate Apartment / Cedar Springs / Kings intersection, Dallas, TX 75219 Tue Jul 20, 2004

I'm in a first floor apartment and get spotty coverage at best. I normally have to walk outside my apartment to get good coverage. Sometimes it seems that the coverage is better during the day (during peak times). But this might not be true. I generally have to stand in certain locations to get a good reception, and even then it's only one and sometimes two bars. It's odd because when the phone is off, the reception appears to be good. 4 to 5 bars. But once I make or receive a call, it declines significantly. It also seems to depend on which way the phone is pointing, when it's off. When the phone is off, the bars can fluctuate depending on which direction I have it pointed. Overall, I'm dissatisfied with my Cingular coverage in my particular location. In other places around town, I feel like I get good coverage.

The bars actually fluctuate between none to average. But even while it is showing 4 to 6 bars, the moment you attempt a call, the bars dropped and I get either a "system busy" or "error in connection" message.

No reception over 95% of the time. Also I think the phone has something to do with this because Motorola has bad reception for its T series.

No reception in malls or parking garages. Drops any call over twenty minutes, and drops calls when near DFW. I'm looking for a better flip-top cell phone.
