This phone gets great reception with Cingular, except in understandable trouble spots like parking garages, elevators, etc. Even there, it still gets 2-3 bars. My LG flip's reception (also Cing) isn't quite as strong. One note: on both phones, there seems to be a very weak signal northeast of Love Field. If you could draw a line as the crow flies from Lemmon / Northwest Hwy. to Midway / Walnut Hill, it is not uncommon to get dropped calls and "No Signal" errors along that line. It is worst along Park from Lakemont to Midway. Not sure what's up on that stretch of terrain, although there is a power station nearby. Outside of that Twilight Zone, the phone is perfect nearly all the time.

Verizon has been generally very good for me so long as I am outdoors or in the car. There is one small place on I30 where the phone will always drop the call but the area is very small (and doesn't move). Typically there is no reception in elevators of large buildings and most concrete parking garages lose signal as you down levels. In office buildings near Legacy and Tollway, there is rarely signal anywhere and any found cannot be relied on long enough to even place a call. But everywhere else... it's pretty good and Samsung phones seem to do well with Verizon here.

No more than 2 bars in this neighborhood. Going north from Colorado to 30 on Sylvan, ALL calls drop as the road dips. This is within ~100ft of I-30. Cross I30, and reception goes to 5 bars. Face it, Oak Cliff will never see good reception. The neighborhood's not got enough money to attract interest. Friends on ATT / Cingular report the same awful reception in the 'Cliff.

Service became worse after Cingular merged with ATT, I am now on roam from my home and neighborhood. Went to Cingular and was told my phone was too old and I should switch from TDMA to GSM. I learned that Cingular replaced the TDMA tower with GSM tower on Preston. I will switch carriers.

Before Cingular took over ATT, my reception was exceptional in house and neighborhood. Now it's barely there and my phone shows ROAM as I drive the streets of my neighborhood. Must have sold off the ATT towers.

I've used T-Mobile, Sprint, and Cingular. Of the three, Cingular seems to get the best reception. All of my neighbors report bad cell phone reception, especially inside their houses. It's not uncommon for me to step outside into my front yard to place a call, and see three of four of my neighbors doing the same thing! Reception seems to have become stronger in the last few weeks - maybe somebody heard the complaints and put a tower in nearby.

no ring through, and it goes straight to voice mail. It is as if they have a revolving tower, I never know when I will get a good or strong signal. Worse of all its my business phone.

Out service is reasonable 3-4 bars early in the morning when you don't need it. As the day wears on it deteriates to anywhere from no service to 2 bars. When you do get serviceduring the day it's staticy, breaks up and is not usalble! It stinks! Looking for a way out! and another option! Also, I was sold a Motorola phone that was touted to be so much better than my old Nokia -- phooey!

I can not use these phones in my house. they work outside on my front steps facing west only. My back yard is very spotty. I have had 2 trouble tickets with Cingular; 1st ticket was closed because I was not at home to answer the phone. A customer service rep. told me she could see on a coverage map that coverage was very weak where my house is. The tech rep. told me the same. Now I call Cingular and they tell me all of the reports show there is no problem in my area and it will cost me $150.00 per phone to cancel my contracts. Bottom line; The largest cell phone carrier in the area does not care if you can use the phone or not.

Stay away from Verizon if you are in the oak cliff area-- they have minimal towers and no plans to upgrade them or the coverage here.
