Is AT&T really having 3G tower issues and using that as an excuse to tell its customers their phones are bad and need to buy new expensive ones? If we are told our phones are too old to accept newer Sim Cards, but they fit the phone, and work, why don't they just tell us it many not be our phone? Towers should be back "on line" in X amount of time / day(s)... .. And if older phones will no longer work with AT&T Sim Cards, then what about all of those Refurbished "OLDER" phones being sold? Someone is intentionally lying to the public / consumers! Isn't Misrepresention of facts considered Fraud?

Why does AT&T reps seem to have conflicting stories? As of the past several days, my phone has been acting up. While trying to make a call, it shows" Connecting" and the number. But NO ringing sound. Then it shows "Connected", but nothing but dead air. Then the other party hangs up because it shows "Call Ended". But it does not do this all the time, but seems to be getting worse. BTW: I have working sounds whenever I punch numbers, disconnect, etc., so the speakers work fine. I spoke to their Tier 2 Tech Support who told me I could go to an AT&T store and buy a cheaper "Go Phone", the Prepaid ones, and they would just put in a Sim Card and reprogram to my account. Was told that way, I would not have to buy an expensive phone and the "Go Phone" would do all the other functions mine does. (I just use mine for basic calls and maybe, the camera.) Sounds good! So I go to one of their stores and tell the sales person to look at the notations in my account. First thing he tells me is that they are having issues with their 3G towers, those issues cause the problems I am having, but has no idea what is wrong with the towers or how long they continue having issues. Well, he puts in a new AT&T Sim Card, programs it, then gives it back. However, he also tells me I need to be on a new 2 year service contract or a new phone will cost me $200! He CLAIMS they no longer make a Sim Card for MY 3G phone. (But he put a new one in it and it fit and works??) Just having the same issues. Isn't the Sim Card what makes a phone work by delivering electronic instructions send via airwaves from AT&T? So is AT&T on a kick to force loyal customers into buying new expensive phones by claiming their working phones are no longer any good and about to become non-useable? Are these marketing ploys from AT&T to rob us of even more money? Anyone else having these issues?

Just move to 76205. Inside: 1 - 2 bars only. Outside: 2 - 3 bars, and receptions "broken." And, in its constant effort to find a signal, the phone uses up lots of juice. Have to recharge every night or even during the day if we make any calls. This was our only phone line; had to get a land line. Previously at 76201 and we had no problem there.

I always get good reception in the area but I hate how Verizon likes to charge you for everything.

Can't get any reception in my house, and reception in my neighborhood is very poor. I called Verizon and they basically told me it was a bummer.

Single bar or no coverage in my home, 2 blocks away folks get 2 bar coverage. My electrical contractor, using Nextel, could get no coverage in my home and said they had coverage problems all around the nearly 1,000 homes (growing to 7,000 homes) in Robson Ranch. Both Cingular and Verizon have happy customers in the neighborhood.

Moving to Robson Ranch (SW corner of Denton). Looks like I'll have to switch from Sprint PCS to something else if I want to use my Treo-600 in my new home.

Perfect reception in Denton aera as well as Houston area, that's why I switched from AT&T to T-Mobile. Recpetion is very good even in deep buildings, or hospitals where my old AT&T droped to no reception, and T-Mobile still have at least 3 or 4 bar on it.

Little or no AT&T GSM signal inside the Mall. Equally bad with AT&T TDMA, BUT TDMA allows roaming on Cingular, GSM wont allow roaming on Cingular or TMobile, both of which are strong providers in the area.
