I have had Cingular for over a year now, and I hate their reception. I get a lot of dropped calls, my service jumps back and forth from Juarez cell phone providers (Telcel, Movistar and a weird 334-03) so I cant make / receive calls, and if I do I am roaming. I am sick and tired of this, and all of what Cingular tells me is that there is nothing they can do about it. I pay a good amount of money for my plan (which sucks since I rarely have service). If you keep encountering problems with whoever you have service, file a complaint with the FCC. I just filed mine, I mean you have to do whatever it is so you can get your moneys worth, and if they dont listen someone will. I am curious about trying Ampd or Helio does anyone know anything about their service? Thanks

Reception seems to go up and down. I lose a fair amount of calls, maybe 30%? I can watch the antenna display go up and down. This is the only area I have had this problem.

A definite dead spot on I-10 near the Sun Bowl, from Schuster exit to Executive Center exit. Mountain between I-10 and UTEP campus may be a factor.

We had VoiceStream for years, then T-Mobile. We used to get strange people on the other end of the line fairly often and a lot of interception of our calls from Juarez cells. All those problems ended when we went to Verizon. However, when you need a new phone, Verizon wants to sell you their overpriced phones with froo-froo crap like cameras or music that can only download overpriced songs over their network. VZ's "New Every 2" means after paying their high rates for over 2 years, you and your wife qualify for new phones, the only phones they will give you are the cheapie LG crap that will break with the first drop. VZ sells what they want to sell, not what their customers want. I'll leave as soon as a GSM carrier comes along that has a good network and listens to their customers.

I have had Cingular for years and I have always had great reception. I moved here 4 years ago and I am constantly on roam, I still have my New Orleans number. It does not matter what side of the mountain I am on, or anywhere within the mountain. I used to have reception problems in Wal Mart on the grocery side of the store with my old Nokia, but no problems with the Razr. I have even been way up in the Arkansas mountains and I had reception, but no one else did with other service providers. I wouldn't trade Cingular for anything.

The Best company ever! I have been with Sprint, T-mobile, and Nextel, and none of these compare to the service I have received from VZ.

My mother in Miami My wife and I all have Tmobile. It works ok for the most part but I get almost no reception in the barracks in longknife village on Biggs. Futher-more for trainning at donna anna t mobile gives the worst reception. Others in my platoon have T-Mobile as well (with much more expesive phones than mine) and they encounter the same lack of reception, also it's a pain trying to get the goverment employees discount from t mobile with spirnt I just had to show my ID.
