I have had ATT for years and only recently, my calls have been dropping in and out like crazy. I am convinced there is a bad tower somewhere.. have called ATT about it but nothing has improved. It's very frustrating because I am stuck at home all day and have no land line!

I have to go outside to be able to use the phone with 2 bars. I've used Cingular (now AT&T) for over 4 years now with 3 different phones and it never got better. Starting Alltel service this week.

Reception at best is 3 bars and at worst 1-2 bars,With external ant. on my truck I get about 1 bar more.

I get reasonable reception in my home and outside in my yard.reception gets better as I get closer to Tyler or Bullard.I get as good reception as I did with AT&T TDMA.So I really don't have any major complaints with Cingular GSM service.

I get Good reception out where I live,but I do ocaasionally do have Dropped calls or calls go directly to my voice mail without ringing.Cingular is still upgrading its GSM service and they say I will get better signal in the future.We will see but I could still live with the signal I get now.

I've had Verizon for 5 years now. Verizon's network in East Texas is great, matches Alltel's network in East Texas, but Verizon doesn't have the constant billing errors and extra charges that Alltel has. Also, Verizon uses their network, then "falls back" on the "extended network" which is really Alltel's network. So, you get 2 CDMA networks that NEVER drop calls. It is great!

Verizon built many towers in the South Tyler / Flint / Lake Palestine area back in 2004. Around Lake Palestine, Frankston, Poyner, Larue into Athens there is also perfect signal. Heading south toward Jacksonville, Bullard is the last Verizon tower, but you will fall back on "extended network" which is really Alltel's towers. With Verizon, you get the best coverage from 2 networks all on 1 bill.
