Well. It's your old friend JP again. Here is the latest. I was out of town for a few weeks and shortly after my return, the Sprint coverage bit the dust again. Once I turn off Camp Bowie onto the Normandale streets (especially South Normandale), the bars go progressive down. Once I get in front of my apartment complex, calls start to drop after a few seconds. In the apartment, it's the same way. Meanwhile, my roomate is chattering away on his Cingular Phone (He switched from Sprint because of his miserable reception in the apartment complex and some other place. I might as well face it. I will not be able to carry a conversation in this apartment complex unless I switch carriers. This is unfortunate because there will be a early termination fee, even though the service failed to meet my needs - both at work and at the job. Such is life.
With my LG CU500 I always have 3G coverage with 4 or 5 bars never seen it below 3, even in the local Wal Mart and Sams Club. Now that is a good $200 phone from Wal Mart
FOLLOW-UP PREVIOUS POST BY ME -JP I don't know what Sprint has done, but since I returned to town, from my weeklong trip, on January 17, 2007, I suddenly have had good reception in this area! Before, my calls would last around 30 seconds and would then drop. Now, while the reception is not perfect, I am still able to get enough bars to carry on a conversation. Dropped calls are not nearly as frequent as they were previously when the service first started messing up, around early-to-mid December. Thank you, Sprint for improving the service. If there was some technical problem, I wish you would have had some way of notifying us, the customer, to make us aware so that we could have been be more patient (and give you a chance to work it out). For now, life is pretty good, with respect to my cell phone service. Sincerely, JP
Oh Man! Where do I start! I got into town in late October 2007. My phone worked fine, in and outside my apartment, which is one of many located around South Normandale in West Fort Worth, just off Camp Bowie Road, near its intersection with highway / loop 820. Around 2 1 / 2 to 3 weeks ago, my phone started dropping calls. I could watch the signal strength bars as they went from four bars to none, over and over. When I made phone calls, I had around 10-15 seconds to talk, then the call would drop. I had to wait a second or two before I got bars to call again. I only have a cell phone so you can imagine my frustration. I thought that maybe the phone was messed up, but my roommate, who also has Sprint, said he had been having the same problem, going back two or three weeks. He has resorted to going outside into the cold when he has to make a call, and the calls still drop. Frustrated, I called Sprint to find out what the heck was going on. I called while driving on North Loop 820. The second time I got through to an agent (the first call dropped, but that was understandable considering there "ain't much out in NorthWest Fort Worth), I was transferred to service, but that call dropped too. For now, my reception problem will have to remain a mystery. But when I move a a few months, if my house has this type of reception, I may have to invite friends with different phones over to the house to see if ANY work. This has been a pitiful and shameful display of either Sprint's technological prowess, or their ignoring of the area I live in. Either way, I lose, and the company has failed to provide me the service I am paying over $150.00 a month for. Sincerely, JP
Very Poor reception. Can move a few feet and it imporves and if you move a few more feet is is poor. Cingular needs to beef up their signal strength here, they know where the pockets of poor reception are and now with ATT they will probably cut back on budget for improving their signal strength in areas such as in Fort Worth where their signal is weak
HORRIBLE reception in this area. Consistent voice dropouts and multiple dropped calls daily, even with supposedly 5 bars. Has been this way with Cingular with 4 different phones... best with V3i but still terrible. I've borrowed a T-Mobile phone which was much better, and a Sprint which was even better than the T-Mobile. Can't wait for my Cingular contract to expire.
After years of not having problems, the past few weeks have been horrible. Can't get a signal in the house (and I work out of my home so it is VERY important!) Dropped calls, can hear the caller but they can't hear me and vice versa. I've been told they are working on the towers but who knows?
You don't get any reception inside buildings (schools, houses with attics, clubs, etc.) And I don't think it's just the RiVerSide area, but the whole city of Fort Worth.
I get 1 bar and usually drops all calls. T-Mobile is so bad, I could be driving and is just drops the call showing no signal them instantly shows full signal area.
