All I get is great reception everywhere I go, until I get out in the boon-docks where no one really gets anything! but still then I get at least 1 bar and I never drop a call but maybe 2 max a month!

Never have a problem with reception anywhere in the Fort Worth area. I spend probably 90% of my time out there. If you use sprint, only get a sanyo phone. They only make phones for sprint from what I've found out, so their phones are tuned to the sprint network better than others, I feel. Hope this helps anyone.

AT&T's new GSM isn't all they say it is. I called the store asking what the deal is, is it my new phone is a lemon or are they having technical problems in the area? They said don't worry its just a glitch in the system no worries. I'm now going to Verizon.

Cingular TDMA - This phone gets great reception in most areas. A few lower areas seem to be lacking, and if enough time passes might even drop a call, but mostly this phone works without issue. Indoors can be a bit spotty, but this really depends on your dwelling (materials, etc.) Receive and make calls without isse, possible dead spots if moving through low areas, but mostly good! 3-4 bars indoors, and up to 5 outdoors depending on area.

Cingular GSM Seems that this phone works, and seems to get good reception out here (a few spot areas with bad reception in low areas) which is a surprise since GSM is slow to come to this area. I recently switched from a TDMA phone to GSM dreading the results, but I have been pleasantly surprised. Remember there could be bad spots in low areas but otherwise in a standard area, not moving very much it seems to work well indoors (3-4 bars), and much better than expected outdoors.

Sony Ericsson T68i

Reception is erratic. Unlikely to be T68i since it works fine for weeks and months in the same area, then suddenly reception is poor. A few days later reception is OK again. .Sometimes I can hear caller but caller can't hear me. Cuts out in mid-conversation. Sometimes calls don't go through and I get beeps. Sometimes I get a note "reception forbidden." There was no reception at all in Syracuse NY or in Alaska whereas other people's cells (with other service providers) worked or, at least, roamed. While in Boston, MA the service went into a serious "erratic" mode, failing to complete any calls. An ATTwireless technician told me to bring it to ATT center and have them switch the SIM card to a different phone and see if it works. I went to ATT store in Natick MA but they told me that they would only switch SIM card if I purchased a new phone. However, they told me ATTwireless offered to fix the phone (if less than a year old) for $25; ATT would send a temporary replacement while it was being fixed. They put me in touch with ATT operator and I explained that I was only in Boston for 5 days. She said "no problem" they would mail the replacement phone by express mail and I would receive it the next day. Three days later when I had not received the phone, I called ATT to change the address to send the phone to Fort Worth (where I live), they told me their computers were down and couldn't do anything. I called the next day and they told me the phone had been backordered for 4-5 weeks. They told me that they couldn't change the address it was being sent to. I spoke with two different supervisors and they still insisted that there was no way to stop the phone from going to Boston. My brother in Boston sent it "return to sender" according to ATT's instructions. None-the-less I was charged $25, which I finally got removed from the bill after waiting 30 minutes to talk to live person at ATT. Sony Erickson (SE) offered to fix the phone (during the one year warrantee) for free but they wouldn't send me a temporary replacement phone while they repaired mine (assuming it needed repair). That is why I had chosen to go with the ATT $25 plan. However, I must say that I called SE twice and both times their service people picked up after a few rings--no automated menu after menu trying to figure how to reach a live person. This is rare service for these days and I commend SE for their service and courtesy. Wish they would reconsider loaner phones. Anyway, when I returned to Ft. Worth from Boston in November, my T32i seemed to be working perfectly. So, it must have been the ATT reception in Boston. It worked well in Fort Worth for months and then went into the erratic state once again two days ago. ATT does not have local service centers, whereas other wireless companies do. I am currently one year into a two year contract. I am going out today to switch to Verizon. I will pay $175 to cancel ATT. Good Riddance!
